Unchanged starters, Fletcher on the bench instead of Lacey. Manchester United XI: Lammens, Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw, Casemiro, Mainoo, Amad, Bruno Fernandes, Cunha, Mbeumo. Substitutes: Bayindir, Mazraoui, Zirkzee, Malacia, Yoro, Ugarte, Heaven, Sesko, T Fletcher.
Cas ankle did not look good after that red card "tackle" from Romero. Romero is a dirty player who knows exactly what he is doing, leaves things on players all the time (like he did Mbeumo earlier) but means he will often leave too much and get sent off like today. Very pleased to see Cas get up and keep playing after that, could have finished his season.
the irony for Romero is he was talking shit about the board letting the team down and then he does that... again...
Nice and rare assist from Dalot with a good cross. Also shows why Sesko helps without necessarily touching the ball or scoring. Should be game despite Cas going off and Ugarte coming on '87 Both Villa and City above us have difficult away games to Bournemouth and Liverpool. So could be a good weekend
Sesko should have scored again. He could have controlled the ball and taken a little more time. Another good win. As this board has consistently pointed out, Maguire and this high line doesnt work. We need to figure out if De Ligt is gonna be a sick note or not, because Maguire is worth keeping on a lower salary as a depth piece, if De Ligt cant play. But if De Ligt will be fine, then let Maguire go. We have a good box defender. Anyhow, there was a Spurs build up early in the game and Solanke dropped into the space and showed the world why you cant play Maguire in games where you want to be on the front foot. Its almost as if they intentionally targeted him. Another note, Thomas Frank chews gum harder than anyone Ive ever seen in my life. Its like he's chewing on welldone steak for 90 minutes.
That Mbuemo goal had eyes - that thing just crawled into the back of the net. Too bad Sesko didn't get a better play on Bruno's cross and get us a 3rd on the last play.
United were wasteful today but i was glad to see a nice base level of performance maintained. that and a clean sheet will do nicely, though i would have preferred we padded the goal difference more. apparently this was our first win over Tottenham Hotspur in almost 4 years
Missed the match saw the highlights (11min). Good intensity but we need to be clinical. Anyone got links for 20-30 mins of highlights.
