3. Spurs 70 (36 games played) Bournemouth (A), Everton (H) 4: Chelsea 68 (36 games played) Watford (H), Leicester (A) 5: Arsenal 66 (36 games played) Brighton (H), Burnley (A) 6: Man Utd 65 (36 games played) Huddersfield (A), Cardiff (H) By the grace of God now and that Chelsea somehow bottles it in 2 games that could trip them up.
No intensity. No drive. Always start off ok and then fade. What’s the deal? I know many want to just shoot on the players but this one is also on Ole. At one point, I think the front three consisted of Mata, Alexis, and Lukaku. Trashley is still the captain. I wanted to say that Bailly was a bright spot but poor chap goes and gets hurt. He looked solid before then. Annoyed at the ads for the Treble doc. Probably due to our current state. Not trying to reminisce on old glories. But also, such a waste of what could have been a dominant period. I’m feeling down.
For past few weeks he claimed players need reality, some of the players will not be here next season, players running after money will not be play for united and selecting same shi8 and promoted none from academy u23..
Surely he knows now who’s out for next season so why is he still selecting them and not playing the kids?
The recent run has clearly made Ole more gun shy. The last sub today was very emblematic of that, as stated previously in the thread. A month ago, Ole would have sent in Martial instead of McTominay. And not that McTominay did anything inherently wrong today (should have started arguably) but it's obvious that the approach has been different from just a few weeks ago. I guess a losing streak, as we've had recently, can do that to a coach...
How do you go from being the world's best keeper, to Karius, almost overnight? If OGS persists with DDG for the next game, I'm going to lose it. Not only is it insulting to Romero, who is good enough to be first choice for a lot of decent teams, it's demonstrative of OGS' inability to be tough when it comes to player selection. I'm really grateful to DDG for his incredible service to the team for the last 4-5 seasons. But this ain't a charity.
I don’t think the answer is to be tough at all. This is psychological, this is not unprofessionalism or contract issues, it’s a mental block. This is not a time for Jose tactics, he needs a summer off and then he’ll probably be back to his old self.
it's not ALL on de Gea but mostly. i know we've been hugely subpar of late but we still could have had a West Ham esque result - i.e. not deserving but still getting a reward in one or two of these games. overall it's on José for the 11pt handicap plus the downbeat players he left behind. that said, it's the same set of players for the entire season under both managers that haven't done it. OK we accept the current squad can't challenge for the title but top 4 surely. sadly we can't incentivise salaries or turn over the entire squad. a while ago i thought we had the core of something special at least but it looks like players are regressing in both courage and skill. man... there is so much trash to get rid of. where to start?
Obvs the goal is on DDG, but did anyone else have a sense of foreboding when Rudiger picked up the ball and drove into the space? Particularly when it is super-slow Matic who had the job of coming out to block the shot.
I only just saw the first half. Anyone knocking Rome for trying stuff with the ball at their feet can go kick rocks. In this offense he is asked to be more than a target man and he has adjusted. From what I saw Rome or Shaw should be out MotM. I don't know what is going on with DDG but I would sit him for Huddersfield and start Romero. Not as a punishment but something is not right with him and him and Alvarado need to sit down with the team pysch and work out his issue.
I would bench him for the rest of the season. Start fresh next season. Herrerra's face at the end if the game seemed to read, " it's decided, then, PSG it is. " Such a shame to lose him.
Rom was 1000x better than any other attacker out there. Mata, apart from his goal, did nothing. Rashford was his usual self, made some decent runs but was clueless with the ball at his feet and when he cant just run past people. The midfield, ugh, just bad.
Totally agree. It seemed like Rom was the only player out there really trying. TBH, if I was going to make a large bet on which attacker on out team has the ability to score goals consistently, I would put my money on Rom.
The talking points from Sunday's disappointing draw. http://therepublikofmancunia.com/man-united-1-1-chelsea-the-talking-points/ Don't know end up getting the MotM award for United, but so far as I'm concerned, it clearly had to be between Shaw and Herrera.
