Kind of bizarre and a shame that this game will take place at the same time as City vs Chelsea. Oh well...
Apparently is an early kick-off as requested by council and police owing to a later concert at nearby cricket ground. So earlier kick-off but not being shown on uk tv https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/why-is-man-united-v-aston-villa-not-on-tv-in-uk-on-saturday
Donny should be in contention for a midfield spot and would like to see him next to Mc (just to see how they work together). Odds are though that Ole will return to McFred once again.
The team I would love to see for this match. -------------------------Dave ---------AWB---Varane---Maguire---Shaw ----------------McTominay---Donny -------------Sancho---Bruno---Pogba -------------------------Ronaldo Could easily go with Mase wide right but Sancho gets the nod: trying to embed him on the right (which is what he was presumably bought for) and going for his creative edge as well. Very high chance, as stated, that Ole will go back to McFred for this one but I do believe this is a perfect game to start with Mc and Donny. Donny did well enough vs WH midweek, exhibiting the qualities that would make him a good option (his progressive passing especially). In terms of his workrate and willingness to get stuck in, didn't do any less than what we've seen from Fred of late. It's really worth the shot and it's a move that could pay off well, if it comes off. Mike Dean is the official for this game btw.
Greenwood is not getting dropped. Sancho needs a break. You either play Martial on the left for him or you add another midfield and push Pogba wide left.
And you are choosing to go with Martial? Look I get it. You need an excuse to use that fancy lineup program thingy I guess..
As a football fan, I do: odds are it should be a good match to watch between the 2 of them. As far as the result, hoping for a draw which could work in our favor if we take care of business and beat Villa.
If they start playing them and they somehow score game winning own goals when they play their parent club I hope you never question the integrity of the player of his parent club. Or if the player scores a game winner against his parent club that relegates them.
Reasonably confident in this one since we'll be home, the team will be changed and we have some legit firepower both starting and on the bench. That being said, would like to see us start playing better football also, especially with the schedule and quality of teams we are facing both getting tougher from here on in. Don't expect Villa to bunker but they still should be well organized and they have weapons going forward that can hurt the team. Not a fan of the team he picked for this one. A midfield of Pogs and Fred is a gamble vs McGinn (who will play apparently) and Douglas Luiz defensively. And that is before the threat that their front 4 could be also. Lots of energy in that bunch and that could a lot to handle, even for our backline.
Villa XI: Martinez, MIngs, Konsa, Hause, Cash, Targett, Douglas Luiz, McGinn, Ramsey, Watkins, Ings McFred is back as expected: let's hope it can be a good day for the pair today at least. Real shame for Donny who played himself into serious contention at least but what else should be expected at this point when it comes to him? Rest is pretty straightforward: Ole remaining with Mase (perfectly understandable given his form tbh). 👔 Catching up with Ole ahead of #MUNAVL on:➖ The freshness of our starting XI➖ @ECavaniOfficial's return➖ @Cristiano's focus#MUFC— Manchester United (@ManUtd) September 25, 2021
