We won't get too ambitious and think about a third division just yet. Kemenes Kempinski Manager of Auto Matic Premier League of Gentleman Defending Champion.

Can the draft time per selection be increased from 60 seconds? Because that's too little time for any analysis.
60 Seconds is to get the draft done in one sitting. Do the analysis beforehand. We might have even reduced it to 30 seconds last year, I can't remember. Get your draft order all set and you don't even have to be in the draft room. All you want is the players you want. It doesn't matter who anyone else picks if you have your preferred order selected. As there's no budget, there's no worries. Auto Matic did just that last season and won the league; all picks were on Auto Pilot. Sometimes we tend to overthink things and it muddies the waters.
Thinking about it, 60 seconds (1 minute) x 15 (players per team) x 8 (teams in the league) is 2 hours. That's way too long to sit around 'analysing'; so we will change it to 30 seconds. That's an hour 'all in' for the draft. Way long enough to have loads of fun.
LOL! You are a nut. First off, there are only 4 teams in the league right now. Way back when, in the original days of fantasy sports, I played in an original Rotisserie Baseball league (this is the early 1980s). We did our draft in person around a conference table, occasionally with one or two people participating by speakerphone. It was an auction draft and people did their homework, naturally. Typically, the draft took 4 to 6 hours. If you can't keep your mind focused for 2 hours, you've got the problem, not me.
There are other things in life to do than sit at a computer for four hours. Hopefully there will be eight teams by draft time, or it won't be worth doing. By all means make your own four-hour league, but there's no need to be personally insulting about it. Seems you may have trouble concentrating on what to write for one minute.
Um... nope. I wrote EXACTLY what I intended to write. You have presented what appear to be presumptuous proposals on how this league should be run as if this league can be lead by the nose by whomever is most persistent in posting. This league was running long before you or I joined it. Therefore, deferring to their ways of running it is most appropriate. After all, we joined it, they didn't join us. Suggesting alternatives is fine. Deciding to leave if one decides the league no longer fits their preferred way to play is fine. But, steamrolling ideas into a league with a long history ignores the long time stewards and other players of the league. I said my piece on what I preferred. The more senior persons elected to stay with the prior approach. So, I left. No ill will at all. I admire all these folks, tremendously. That's why I've been poking my head around the corner to see what was up, to see if maybe there had been a change of heart about how to run the league. I've watched the difficulty in recruiting new members and feel most of that is due to Big Soccer's shrinking user base. Either way, I'd said my piece and would not post more about it. As a further example of this kind of thing: This coming week, I'm going to a board game convention that has many hundreds of attendees. It's been run for decades. It was formerly in a hotel that was just a mess, few eating options, below standard on disabled access (didn't affect me, but did affect several friends). The convention operation in terms of people and opportunities to play and compete in tournaments was excellent. BUT, the facilities sucked. So, I didn't go for many years because of the poor quality facilities. They moved to a new location two years ago and I've attended each year since. I didn't harass them about it. I didn't start my own convention. I just filled out my feedback card at the end of the convention a decade ago saying the facilities needed an upgrade and why. I said my piece. Their independent change brought me back. It seems to me that your behavior is most consistent with someone who wants to steal the league and remake it in their own image. But, I know that I can't really know what's in your head and heart. In regards to the league you've launched... I've a decision to make: Is the 60 second (30 second??? ) time limit acceptable to me or not. If not, I'll bow out. I'm joining your league (or not). I've said my piece on that time limit.
Oh, Unbalanced... you (nut) crack me up. If you don't know what you're talking about, there's little point in replying to you. Founding Member of Small Rocks.
My apologies for insinuating you were not a founding member. But, the alteration of my name is juvenile.
I spent last night taking a closer look at the FPL draft league. I am considering joining a league for the experience. Seems like the right thing to do if the All Rocks league moves in that direction in the future. Seems like the only way to fairly judge its potential as a replacement down the road if we are unable to maintain the current format. Then I saw the posts above. I have also participated in drafts that went hours long. That's what beer is for.
The draft can be set for up to 12 hours between picks. That would close to mimic what was done in the past with All Rocks. No need to all be glued to their computers.
Agree with above - I am happy to set a Draft League up and actually discuss (rather than dictate) the details... I will not ambush this thread (enough of that going on around here ) ... I will start a new thread
The maximum is 120 seconds, so get eight managers and you can all sit around for four hours. Believe me, you'll want to speed it up; especially when a few don't show and the picks are on autopilot anyway.
Sadly, I had missed the fact that the draft was on the 4th (the only day where my availability is uncertain) and thus cannot participate.
Does anyone else want in? It's easy to do an automated selection so you don't have to be online live; although I will be. The skill is getting it right during the season. We don't really want managers who hope the initial draft will get them through the year. It's about having fun and being active. https://draft.premierleague.com/ New Code is: 53780-15248
