Ruben Amorim has stuck to his word and chosen a strong Man Utd line-up ahead of next week's Europa League final. Five changes from the team that lost to West Ham at Old Trafford on Sunday. Andre Onana replaces Altay Bayindir as goalkepeer, with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof brought into defence. It appears that Luke Shaw, who was in the back three last time out, shifts into wing-back, replacing Harry Amass. Casemiro joins captain Bruno Fernandes in the midfield two as Manuel Ugarte drops to the bench. Amad appears to have shifted into the No. 10 positions, with Patrick Dorgu at right-wing back. Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund make up the rest of the front three, next to Amad. Ayden Heaven and Toby Collyer return to the bench after injury. =========== biggest takeaway is Heaven back since we are short CBs and Collyer adds a body in midfield although we are OK there
Man Utd: Onana, Mazraoui, Lindelöf, Maguire, Dorgu, Casemiro, Fernandes, Shaw, Amad, Mount, Højlund. Subs: Bayındır, Amass, Fredricson, Heaven, Collyer, Eriksen, Mainoo, Ugarte, Garnacho. ------------ Chelsea: Sánchez; James, Tosin, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernández; Neto, Palmer, Madueke; George. Subs: Jorgensen, Bettinelli, Badiashile, Chalobah, Acheampong, Anselmino, Gusto, Lavia, Dewsbury-Hall
if we're serious about trying to help Højlund, we have to stop lumping the ball up to him and expecting him to do something with it
Naturally will always disadvantage the attacker as they'll be the one leaning towards the goal. Offside has become one of those rules where we've lost sight of the actual purpose for it's introduction/existance
thought Onana was a dunce there. but it's a dive by the louse. still no reason for him to go out there when the guy is going away from goal
Spurs rested their key players tonight and we play a lot of ours for best part of 70mins before any subs.
lol yellow for Amad dive but the chelsea boy gets away with nothing. both lame. don't know why Amad didn't shoot there or try to
Hojlund is so bad too … Could go through a lot of the team with the same comment. Onana with two mistakes that on another night lead to goals - including his signature move of flapping a shot back out to an oppo player.
Bruno off... packing it in. Amorim's got a find a way to motivate these guys. Other than Amad, no one is showing anything.
we deserve to lose for being the more shit of the two teams but these chelsea players are pathetic with the play acting
Didn't watch as I was too busy with work. We've done well against Europa League opposition this season but it will be a Prem game on Wednesday. Which is why we will lose but I'm ok with that. We're not ready for the CL yet and doing without any midweek Euro games will help Amiron and the team grow and focus on the Prem next season.
