No alcohol for you dude until you're 21, or go to Canada Metrostars are 5 - 2 - 1 and top the table with 17 points after 8 matches
You cant do shite here. Theres absolutely nothing to do. You might as well go back to whatever it is you came from.
This should read, "Until you can drink, there's nothing to do here." Seriously though, It's New York. There are a million and a half things to do, even without a fake ID.
Why are we bringing over 19 year olds from britian to work for MLS??? I thought we had our fair share of inexperienced teenagers looking for work.
You'd think so wouldn't you? I don't want to post it here but if anyway wants to hear about how messed up the MLS front office is, find me at the next home game.
Yesterday (June 5th) the Labor Department reported 442,000 new jobless claims in the May 31st week alone. http://reuters.com/financeNewsArticle.jhtml?type=businessNews&storyID=2886144
Not legally. The drinking age here is 21. But I do seem to recall a certain skit on the American sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live involving some Boston teenagers trying to buy alcohol from a local shop. Their last ploy to buy beer worked... "A fake moustache and a British accent works every time." Grow those whiskers, my lad. You're half way there.
New York city has so much to do it can get daunting. Live in Manhattan, live it up. You'll find ways to get a beer or two.
Yeah, hoss, but HE can spell Britain, and probably lots of other stuff, too. Plus, he's got a cool accent that always sounds polite, even when brassed off. Somewhere in the UK someone is asking why they are bringing over a Yank in his early twenties to play in ManU's goal -- for a lot more than this lad will make toiling for MLS. Yo, cuzzy_uk, New York is still New York, even on near beer. Start with downtown Manhattan. Prepare to do a lot of walking. Get directions to The Swamp. Enjoy.
haha, silly American laws. All a kid of 16 has to do to smoke a cigarette and buy a pint of beer in a pub in Britain, is buy a meal and it's not illegal either. Americans carrying fake id's at the age of 20, hehe. I've never heared anything more stupid. Actually, no, maybe I have.
said nyc bar I remember watching a world cup qualifier at a bar and talking to two 15 year old kids from St. Louis who were watching the game with their sister and her boyfriend. They were in the bar and were afraid to drink cause they might get kicked out. We thought it was a pity that they had to watch a game without a beer. We explained to them that the owners were british and didn't give two sheets what the hell they were doing. At that point, we went to the bar and bought them a pint of something. They began to drink and were on their way to being pleasantly drunk by mid afternoon.
US laws do sound kind of harsh and draconian. Honestly, next you'll be saying he can't legally screw his 16 year old girlfriend either.
This should probably go in to politics section, but drinking laws have been proven to save quite a few lives.
lots of places to go even at 19, but just get a fake ID, the new jersey one is SO easy to fake anyway. with a fake ID in the NY area should keep you busy.
