Ok, so we decided a new thread should be opened up so it doesn't clogg up the other England age group or senior football team thread. So please discuss in here any issues or queries regarding certain players that could qualify for England or others that have chosen to follow another route.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ager-Roy-Hodgson-committing-England-fold.html Not quite sure what assurances Hodgson can offer other than to say if your playing well and prove yourself, you have a really good chance. However not sure how accurate this story is as no quotes or anything and just a journalists say so but if it is true it's a good sign.
Seems like a good sign, but hopefully nobody thinks it makes some difference. Reading those comments makes me feel like I died and went to hell! Nobody agrees on anything.
All this is easily solved. Any dual nationals that Woy wants, call them up for the San Marino game. Those who show up - Play them and then they can't play anywhere else. Those that don't - Never call them up again.
Grealish should leave the hippy crack alone and focus on "making it" in the Premiership for a bit longer before asking for "assurances". And leave the international scene alone.
Yeah, that I agree with you on. He really should just get his head down now and prove himself and stay out of the spot light ( off field )! Hopefully he learns the lessons of being naive and the same goes for Sterling and Ibe.
The media storm over laughing gas is pathetic. It's nothing. Far less damaging than the alcohol they all drink and perfectly legal too.
oldie but goodie Please can most England fans stop been so negative.. Get behind the team!!!!!😛😃 come on England!!!— Jack Grealish (@JackGrealish) June 14, 2014
Yeah it is pathetic but I just think it's better to get your head down and not give the media any ammunition as they will crucify anyone they think worthy!!
Germans that are apparently eligible for England. Lukas Wilton, May 13, 1995 - Defender - Hannover 96 - English father. Alexander Wähling, Mar 30, 1995 -Midfield - 1, FSV Mainz 05 - Engish mother. Nils Dietz, Jan 20, 1996 - DM - Borussia Dortmund Joshua Holtby, Jan 20, 1996 - Midfield - Borussia Mönchengladbach - English father.
Good find! Where did you find these guys? Any info on how they good they are? I have tried to have a look but all seem to still be playing youth or B team football. Joshua Holtby must be brother to Lewis which is pretty obvious but Perhaps @timh19 can supply any info on these guys as think he's German or certainly knows the German market
I will be gutted if Cameron Carters-Vickers can't be lured away, Klinsmann and the USA did well to get him embedded so early and fast track him. He hasn't closed the door just yet, but wouldn't be surprised at all if he gets full capped in the next year.
None of them is a big talent. I doubt Wilton, Wähling and Dietz will ever make it in the Bundesliga. Yes, Joshua Holtby is Lewis's brother- I've read that he has the right attitude, really loves playing football and isn't playing too badly for Gladbach's U19 side. Maybe he will become a Bundesliga player one day but he is not considered a top talent and I don't think he will be good enough for England's senior national team.
Thanks for the info, appreciate it. Do you know of any others that might be interesting to watch and see how they develop?
I put a post up a while back when he was interviewed before Christmas I think it was and he said he was pretty much leaning towards the US, however you never know and maybe he was saying that as no one at the FA had/has been in contact about representing the Country of his birth. I wonder if he has been approached by the FA yet?
Thought Grealish was really good again today, MOM in my opinion. I'm gonna guess that there could be more articles in the press tomo really bigging him up for England.
I must say I find the articles on this particular Grealish issue to all be nonsense. It's just continuous regurgitation.
He could easily do a job for the seniors I think, even now. Has the same sort of assurance on the ball that Sterling did when he broke onto the scene.
He certainly impressed me on Saturday, got great composure for a young lad and has a football brain. Is he ready for International football just yet, I don't know but if he keeps up with this sort of performance, it would be hard to leave him out. Maybe a call up against Ireland
Seems to have a surprising amount of strength on the ball as well. The august friendlies may be a time to do a cheeky Harry Wilson style call up perhaps?
