I think it would be entirely possible for Ampadu to have made this World Cup squad if he'd stuck with England. He'd certainly be a welcome addition to the current pool of players.

Yeah I’m inclined to agree. He’s probably the only one that stands out.

I don't think he would've definitely got in the squad but he'd be in the conversation. It would come down to what Tuchel likes.

I see Ibragimov made his debut for Russia 4 days ago in a friendly against Burkina Faso.

Doesn't cap tie him but it is a pretty firm nailing of his colours to the mast. It does seem he hasn't kicked on in academy football but still not good to lose players so young (though I seem to remember the poster who ended up being almost certainly correct on Gueke and others was adamant that Ibragimov was also older)

I am pretty sure he doesn’t have a British passport yet so that is always going to make it hard to keep players in that situation

Prince Cisse the son of Djibril Cisse who has 12 caps across age groups for Wales has signed his first professional contract with Liverpool. He's born in England to a Welsh mother so I'd expect that he's eligible for England. Not heard much hype around him so I'm not sure if he's worth looking at.

Luc de Fougerolles sounds like a generic England rugby player.

De Fougerolles was Canada's best player in the first half imo. Disappointed by Buchanon, Koné, David and Oluwaseyi.
    Big fan of Muharemović

    Is he half French?
Sporting's also interested and he's currently in Lisbon; doesn't have to mean anything of course as it could simply be for vacation.

Have to say I’ve never heard of him but if he’s anything half decent with a high ceiling potential then get him in the next U19/U20 squad. The Olise issue haunts me, lol.

Tranfermarket.com has him both English and French citizenship. Also I’m presuming this is where you got the Sporting link from as says Sporting and Milan interested in him.

Honestly the German Transfermarkt website only shows the English flag next to his name so the French links was just me guessing based on his name lol. They also didn't show any Sporting links, this was a later search result. Then was suggested his insta, but again no flags, but his story is from Lisbon. Intersting all of these infos seem to be on the English version haha.

Looking at this guy's numbers in PL2 and u18s seems pretty strange they'd be interest from Milan and Sporting.

Plus the fact that he's never been called up by either England or France when international recruiting is now so competitive. That said, you never know.

Feels a bit like Adrian Blake a few years ago, few had heard of him then he's getting promoted as an elite talent by certain social media accounts. Gets called up to the England squad seemingly off the back of that and ends up signing for FC Utrecht. Blake was last called up for England 3 years ago.

London-born Patryk Sykut (Peterborough) has been called up to Ukraine's squad for the U19 Euros, playing up a year. His first involvement with them.

Seems like a precursor to a switch. At least it looks like he’s waiting for the start of a new cycle instead of nicking someone’s plane ticket.

I don’t think he had a choice because they didn’t move for him. He likely would have accepted if they asked him to switch.

Really? From what I’ve heard from players that switch, they’re always in contact with the other federation.

That is what I believe happened. Ghana made a big deal about not calling players for a finals that had rejected them a few times in the past. Obviously I am not certain but it seems like they wanted certain players in qualifying and were not getting the desired response. So, the door was closed on them until after the WC.
