He's played like 100 odd minutes of first team football. It doesn't say much about their other midfield options on standby
Marcelo Flores did his Knee and looks like he's out of the World Cup, pretty sure he trained with England as youngster (and does or could have qualified for us)
I think it’s less than that, I don’t particularly know their other midfield options but would guess Fletcher is closer stylistically to Gilmore.
Sounds like a classic Cap-tying opportunity unless their other options aren’t really that good anyway and probably see Tyler as a long term option with a higher ceiling than everyone else. Personally I would have thought McGregor from Celtic would have been preferred but I’m not an avid watcher of the SPL.
Mcgregor retired from international football a few years ago. Surely Miller playing regularly for udinese would have made more sense
The BBC article about this mentions Jack has having chosen to represent England. He played more minutes yesterday for Scotland than he did for Man United’s first team all season.
I would assume Fletcher will stay with England while he's a regular in the youth teams. Really no reason for him to be sticking with England at this point if England weren't his first choice.
Must be a first if they both play senior International football, one for Scotland and the other for England. On the face of it, seems mad.

Maybe I'm underrating the Fletcher twins but I'd be pretty surprised if Fletcher ever made it to senior level for England. He's never stood out for the underage teams anyway, though I guess he could kick on.
Yeah I know of others from other Countries but was more specifically talking about England and Scotland mainly due to the hostile environment ( Sporting terms )
It’s definitely a first. I remember Darren saying he wouldn’t pressure them either way so he’s allowed them to forge their own path. I find it very strange when parents try and sway their kids to play for a country when it might not be in their best interests. I like that Darren said he would be happy with either choice.
Yeah, he’s not exactly one we talk about that often as a future senior team player but you never know, especially seeing as quite a few players seem to sneak up under the radar compared others that seem destined but ultimately tail off.
Also, it’s got to influence Jack hearing about what a great time his twin is having at the World Cup. He plays like Darren Fletcher, more of a box to box workhorse than a Gilmore type. Funnily enough the only twins I know that did this came through at United and are still playing. Michael Keane played for England and Will Keane plays for Ireland. Will Keane was the more highly rated of two as a youngster and won lots of England caps but never got beyond Championship level and ended up playing for Ireland. Micheal Keane started off playing for Ireland at youth level but then got picked up by England and eventually won 12 senior caps.
Forgot about them. Michael Keane would probably have gone to Euro 2020 had it not been delayed a year by COVID.
All the top prospects, Quansah Anderson Gordon and Livramento, the players those nobheads thought they were going to get have chosen England. So they're welcome to the likes of the Fletcher boys because we're producing talent like that through our ears. Scotland only get our cast-offs
I doubt that. I bet Clarke probably just doesn’t want to call someone he’s already dropped (from getting into the original 26) just to then sit them on the bench all tournament. Fletcher is at a club that will struggle to offer him a pathway though. Meaning there is no guarantee that he has a competent campaign even at Championship level next season. So you are taking a big risk unnecessarily as far as I can see.

So has Jude, does this really need to be in the dual thread since there’s no indication he’s going to switch to Ireland. Otherwise you could probably put 75% of transfer news in this thread since we have so many dual qualified players.
Eze was born in Ireland (apparently to Nigerian parents) and grew up in England. Wouldn't qualification be even more manageable if FIFA expand to 64 teams? Does he still work for Crystal Palace? According to Dave Reddin it was a higher percentage than that when he was working at SGP.
