Going down the Wales route of calling up academy players to their first team to get the cap-tie in.

He played one minute off the bench for Blackburn in 2024 in the FA Cup 3rd round against Cambridge in 2024.

Been playing for Newcastle 21s this season, jumps from Irelands U18s to the Seniors.

He's a really good player, would probably be getting regular caps in his age group had he gone with England.

Jonathan Rowe had a birthday party this week and the cake was a picture of him celebrating the U21 win which maybe shows his commitment to Engkand.

He’s just another ravel Morrison. Thinks he made it before he even kicked a ball.

Will have to dig up some info but think Morrison is a bit of a school kid in comparison right? Can’t recall him being accused of some of the things thrown at Greenwood. Hate to say it but Greenwood has probably already had more of a career than Morrison ever had throughout his career.

Greenwoods career far surpasses Morrisons already. Morrison has about 20 appearance in top 5 leagues in his entire career, Greenwood was the top scorer Ligue 1 last season!

Abuse against his ex girlfriend and her mother and then threatened to throw acid in their face, charges were later dropped though. Lovely chap though nonetheless…

I don't think carney is such a great loss. He barely gets off the dortmund bench these days

To be fair, those charges were dropped because CCTV evidence showed that he hadn't assaulted his girlfriend when she claimed he had - in fact, she'd just slumped to the ground of her own accord, after which he helped her up and drove her home. It's a bit difficult to take her word for any of the other accusations in light of that.

His career went downhill ever since he declared for Ghana ;). Seriously though, I wonder what happened to him though, I’m presuming injuries has had a role to play with him.

He was always a bit overrated because he had an eye-catching burst of pace but his injury record is as bad as you'll see

    https://www.transfermarkt.com/tariq-lamptey/verletzungen/spieler/504148

981 days out injured by age 25. Hard to imagine him ever sustaining a long period of injury free form.

I wouldn't read too much into it just yet. It's only a friendly, and an opportunity he was obviously not going to pass up.

The cap securing of young players is actually getting ridiculous though, I mean just calling up young kids who probably don’t know what they want yet being catapulted into senior International football just to get them in doesn’t really feel like it’s right somehow. If they are young and good enough then that’s one thing but kids who haven’t even played senior football yet, seems a stretch too far.

I’m not sure Man United will be keen on having a player represent Russia who are still currently banned.
