I would wish him well if it was any other country than Scotland. I just couldn't stand to see him play for those entitled f******rs
🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Unbelievable scenes at the Feyenoord game where the son of Robin van Persie, Shaqueel Van Persie, has suffered a major knee injury during the game.Robin van Persie told the medical team to place him down so he could sit with his son. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/fiAMMwcSPA— The Touchline | 𝐓 (@TouchlineX) January 29, 2026

🚨EXCLUSIVE Scotland ramp up bid for Harvey Barnes to play for them at World Cup 🤔 And why I think it makes sense for him to say yes #nufc #scotland #worldcup https://t.co/aJpKERJ02U— Luke Edwards (@LukeEdwardsTele) February 3, 2026 Looking more likely Harvey Barnes will switch. Tuchel doesn’t seem fussed.
The Winter Olympics starts today and it has several born and raised abroad duals representing Team GB - including two genuine medal hopefuls. From what I gather they have put considerable effort into recruiting them.
No I put it here because it’s about the wider issue of duals in sport . Maybe I should have done it in the other thread.
Personally think it would be better in the other sports thread as not to get derailed from the Duals for football. I think we’ve previously talked about the Duals in the Scotland Rugby team for example in the other sports thread. That’s just my take, whether that’s right or wrong I don’t know.
Atlanta United academy goalkeeper James Donaldson is playing in CONCACAF U17 qualifiers for the US. Born and raised in the US to an English father. Was invited to an England identification camp in December. England U17-U19 Goalkeeper Camp. Keep dreaming big!! pic.twitter.com/S6QPcfhI8e— Phil Donaldson (@phildonno) December 9, 2025 Obviously not someone who'd likely be future England senior NT-quality, more just noting it here. The main starting GK for this US U17 team was apparently not released otherwise Donaldson would have likely been on the bench. In theory remains eligible for England with a FIFA switch.
Carney Chukwumeka set to switch to Austria. Article mentions that when he got his British Citizenship he lost his Austrian one (As per Austrian Law) but becuase he was a minor he can have it reinstated. The Austrian Football Association are working on an agreement for Carney Chukwuemeka to switch his international allegiance ahead of the 2026 World Cup.The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has been capped up to under-20 level with England and was part of the under-19 side that won… pic.twitter.com/779czk42Sq— The Athletic | Football (@TheAthleticFC) February 11, 2026
There's literally nothing we can do about losing Chukwuemeka but I think it could be one that we bemoan down the line. Maybe not Musiala/Olise levels but he can become a ridiculously good player if he hits his ceiling. It's a massive coup for Austria and a very smart move from them.
