Probably lol but this is one of the posts:

''Getting this guy would be amazing.

First of all his heart might be in it and maybe he loves Wales.

Secondly from a football perspective this move could get you into the limelight earlier when we qualify for the world cup. If he's a pure baller and doesn't care about the crap that goes with being a player and he just wants to play as soon as possible this is a great and sensible decision. He could get 80-100 caps and be a hero as opposed to 10 and forgotten''.

This really pisses me off. They call us arrogant

If young Mikey needs any encouragement to join Wales all he needs to do is look at the reaction of England fans online to the news we approached him! Astonishing arrogance and entitlement whilst they give him pelters for having a chat with someone at the FAW

I'd find it very strange if Moore at 18 was giving up hope of an England career. It doesn't sound like he's doing very well at Rangers but plenty of players have had ups and downs in their early careers.

Hopefully whoever has these discussions with youngsters at the FA is reminding them that Elliot Anderson nearly switched to Scotland and is now a probable starter for England at a World Cup.

Should just call him up to the seniors to get him cap-tied. Knowing our luck he will turn into another Olise, Semenyo or Lookman :ninja:

Steve McClaren has decided to give a debut to a defender in their toughest qualifying game. But he’s playing him in midfield.

They are currently losing to Curacao. Kenji Gorre has just come on for them. He was linked to England youth teams at one point but is now in his early 30’s.

Kenji Gorre scored a great goal and Curacao won 2-0. Not good for McClaren. You could pin that result directly on his decisions.

Damn, I remember Gorre when he was in United's youth teams, makes you feel old!

He declared for Holland and then never got a single call up at any level!

A lot of talk on social media that Hudson Odoi and Nketiah are ready to switch to Ghana. Personally I think it's a bit sly to switch when you know there's a World Cup place secured because it means a player that helped them qualify will miss out. Lamptey did it last time though. Lets wait and see.

Not everyone in Ghana will be happy if they do so. https://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomeP...-Nketiah-and-Hudson-Odoi-are-trending-2004482

I think they would have to show commitment by playing in AFCON and I’m sure their Clubs would be delighted at more players missing.

Realistically it's hard to see either having a sustained England career so I think they'll switch at some point.

Ghana didn't make Afcon so that's not an option! They'd probably be trying if they did.

I really thought Nketiah was primed for a late 20s explosion like Toney/Watkins. I still think he might tbh but he's had probably the most botched development of any player I can remember. Stayed at Arsenal for far, far too long and now he's behind a French international at his new club.

He's a great example of what often happens when a talented young player who needs a bit more of a considered development pathway plays at a club with massive expectations. He's played an average of around 630 league minutes per season since making his debut. Just perpetually stagnated when he potentially could've been a consistent England international if things had been done differently.

I have honestly lost faith in some of his decision making/squad management this year (this result is a continuation of some longstanding trends) and it wouldn't upset me much if he was fired right now.

But he will not be. We are too deep into the cycle. He will get 3 more games.

The team still has a pretty good shot at qualifying, albeit less room for error now. If they win the final 3 games, they're in. If Curacao drops points at all in their next two games, we are in. This position is not the end of the world but it's bad and it shouldn't be the current situation. We will see what happens.

Nobody was really coming. A few committed non-capped duals are out there, but none of them are huge names. There were never going to be huge big name additions dropping into the side this late. The pool is what it is and that's fine.

Also, if a player would run a mile due to this result, they're not that interested in Jamaica and never really were, which is perfectly fine but that also means they shouldn't be playing for us. They are not likely to give full effort for Jamaica (because they don't really care about representing the country on a personal level) and don't belong in the player pool. They should remain outside of it and wait for England or simply forego international football. There are plenty of committed players who would show up even at this stage (even if none are big EPL names), and if any new spots are opened for new players that is who should be getting them. So, to the extent this result did turn off any number of dual nationals...good.

I was wondering if McClaren had offered guarantees to entice options. A player like Cadamarteri is quite raw to be continuously starting international games. Especially the tougher away games.

A bit different but I was also looking at the pathway approach for Lewis Koumas. He now has more international senior caps than he has international youth caps. Surely he needs to be playing games rather than getting minor senior minutes?

This is what they did with Ben Woodburn. Maybe it is solely because of a lack of depth but it doesn’t seem right long term. If a player isn’t playing much at club level then you have to help them get that game time somewhere in the international set up.

You’d have to assume there is a realistic chance of this happening now, especially given Ghana have qualified for the World Cup.

If I was a Ghanaian, I’m not sure I would be that chuffed about it to be honest. It’s one thing declaring for a Nation and putting in the hard yards to help with qualifying for the World Cup but to just jump on board once they have qualified would probably go down like a lead balloon with a few players.

Hard to say. I’ve seen plenty of times where English or French players of African origins have declared for their parents country and have been given a hero’s welcome on their arrival.
Even if there was an indifferent reaction, football fans are very fickle. They’d forget about it if both of them scored during the tournament and helped them progress.

If ever an England manager comes out publicly and complains about lack of options in the premier league, I don’t think they should look any further than themselves.
I’m not saying nketiah is pulling up any trees but we haven’t taken the France approach in capping our duals and making them feel wanted (even if they are just fringe player).
Odoi was also worthy of a call up in my opinion. They’ve both turned down Ghana for years and were very willing to wait for an England call.
I’m guessing there will be people on here who aren’t bothered by this but at the same time will also complain about lack of English numbers in the premier league.
