Jamaican federation says 4 players on their target list have started the passport process, including Greenwood. https://jamaica-star.com/article/sports/20240903/jff-steps-recruitment-drive That list might be outdated by now and there could be a couple of additional names we haven't heard lately. But we quite obviously know Gibbs-White isn't one of the 4. I'm guessing Nelson, Godfrey, and Hayden. All pretty realistic targets. I think Mitchell is the least likely given how close he is to England and their lack of - he'll definitely want to hold out longer. Unfortunate, because he's probably the player I'd want most on that list aside from MGW (our left back position is far from settled and we're starting a League 1 regular there today). Ben Godfrey is apparently already out of favor at Atalanta. This is a 26 year old who was an England player 3 calendar years ago - his fall off really needs to be studied. All of that said, he'll still be quite useful to Jamaica. A couple of good tournament showings might even help get his career back on track. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo.../everton-transfer-already-failed-new-29860528
First call-up to the US senior team for Standard Liege fullback Marlon Fossey, who was born in Los Angeles before moving at age 4. Joined Fulham's academy at age 11 and was in their setup until 2022. Never made a senior debut for Fulham, was only with youth/reserves or on loan Latest US U18 camp includes Brighton academy midfielder Darius Lane, who's reportedly an England-France-USA tri-national. Reportedly his father is American
Ademola Lookman nominated for the Ballon D’Or. I don’t think anyone saw that coming when he switched to Nigeria.
If we’re being honest, I highly doubt he would be nominated if he didn’t get the hat trick in the Europa League final.
Much like when Van De Beek got nominated because of Ajax's great run in the CL one year. Nowhere near the best player in the world in reality.
I’m surprised it’s taken the UAE that long. They have more potential than Bahrain (The kings of Middle East sporting nationality transfers)
Seems sensible, England have persisted with youngsters in international squads who they hope gain eligibility for being here for school for 5 years - good on him
Come on Roverman.. I think he’ll play a lot of times for France. He’s that good and probably be our biggest dual loss since muisala
Well, they asked him first so I guess that’s all the pull he needed plus probably winning another tournament before us.
I think of all the duals who have declared for other countries Hunt has as much right as any, having spent a good chunk of his childhood there.
I thought this was a pretty judicious way to handle the question, all things considered. The problem with directly saying "We're not picking him because he's a rapist" is that it doesn't just embarrass Greenwood (which can be said to be a good thing), it also brings probably unwanted attention (and possibly more besides) onto the victim. People weren't willing to be charitable to Southgate when he basically said it would be low-hanging fruit to come out with that statement.
