If anyone would know... what's the average annual salary for a footballer in the English third division?

It probably varies a fair bit. I'd imagine Macclesfield who only get slightly over 2000 don't match what Hull City who get 16,000 pay. A normal crowd for the division is a bit over 4,500 and I'd guess normal salary is somewhere around the £500 a week mark, less for younger players.

If you are prepared to look on the net you'll find the actual figures for each division in reports compiled by accountants Deloitte & Touche, although these tend to be a year or two out of date. You won't find actual individual salaries of players like you can for American sportsmen though.

i think it must vary quite a bit, esspecially with some like Hull compared to Scunthorpe!
At Brentford (2nd division) theres a weekly cap of around £500 pounds, apart from a couple of players.
So i should thing 3rd division clubs are slightly higher and lower- it all depends of the individual player and club really

On average £700 per week. Might seem like pocket money to the Premiership but still a good wage.
