Tottenham and Everton are still negotiating the fee for Dele Alli which kicks in after a certain number of appearances. I don't think Everton want to pay much (or what is stipulated to the agreement), so might make sense if Spurs are after Godfrey for a minimum or significantly reduced fee.

I honestly think it's cruel of Arteta to have convinced him to sign a new deal (he was leaning towards leaving this summer) when he knew he was barely gonna use him. Really nasty stuff.
