Just as much as the injuries Brewster’s issue was that he made a really poor transfer choice. Sheffield United were stale as hell going forward and didn’t create much in terms of chances, even during the season they came 9th. On top of that most of their chance creation came from crosses into the box which really isn’t Brewster’s game. Felt like the kind of transfer where the club didn’t didn’t properly profile him before signing him and the player’s representatives didn’t do their homework on the club he was signing for. Really stunted his development.
Balogun misses two penalties tonight on his home full debut. Another player who was at one point eligible for England, Jeremie Boga scored the added time winner for Nice.
George Hirst is having a sort of rebirth at Ipswich: before the season there were many voices according to them he was a League One player, but since then he's been a starter for one of the best teams in the Championship, and oppositions cannot keep up with his pace and athleticism. Exc: Ryan Sessegnon has resumed light training at Tottenham following hamstring surgery. Will recommence outdoor running imminently. Major boost for player and club. More on @MailSport— Sami Mokbel (@SamiMokbel81_DM) September 27, 2023
9 goals, 12 assists last season.7 goals in 9 games this year.Am I being biased by suggesting that of all the players in England who didn’t play in the Premier League last year, Jack Clarke is no.1?He’s just sensational. 🌟 pic.twitter.com/EnSLWq9enV— Dougie Critchley (@DougieCritchley) September 30, 2023
1708112227406864686 is not a valid tweet id Unsure if the above is actually true but he’s not been in a PL team sheet for a long while.
They mean October 2022 - his last appearance was October 29th 2022. He played the majority of Sheffield United 20/21 PL season including the last match of the season on the 23rd May 2021. His last goal was on October 8th 2022.
Understand highly rated talent Dan Rigge is about to sign a new long term deal with West Ham. ⚒️🏴 #WHUFC2006 born midfielder had interest from 4 Premier Lesgue clubs and 2 in La Liga but was focused on West Ham future. pic.twitter.com/rf6BSKpWCN— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) October 1, 2023
He's been excellent for us since he signed in January, looks the real deal in a good footballing side but plays a role which does a huge amount of unselfish and oft unnoticed work. Kieran McKenna a special manager who is making everyone better - Omari Hutchinson looks like he could have an Amad Diallo type loan for us now he is finding his feet, obviously still eligible for England and looks to have Jamaica on the back burners now
John Swift with his sixth Championship goal of the season. Would love him to make the PL. I remember when he came on for his debut with England U16’s (we were losing 4-0 at the time) and he was amazing. Still lost the game but he was a real standout. From that nights team Diego Poyet now 28 is the current assistant manager of Greece. David Moli the big money signing that disappeared early on from England youth teams. From that game Isaac Hayden has probably had the best career with Houghton and Swift next. Quite a few got hit by injuries. They used that Victory Shield to look at a lot of players. Luke Shaw, Angus Gunn, Chuba Akpom and Ben Pearson were involved in the other games.
It’s good to see Nya Kirby enjoying his football at Oxford City. He was part of the winning u17 World Cup team. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/c5V3LqQVNc— TheSecretScout (@TheSecretScout_) October 7, 2023
Jimmy Garner is developing into a decent Premier League player. I remember Brandon Williams saying that Mason Greenwood and Jimmy Garner were a level above everyone in his age group at United. It wouldn't be a surprise to see him develop and get a cap for the seniors.
Of all the names mentioned to replace Phillips he's one of the few who (I think) could actually replace a lot of what Phillips offers despite being stylistically different.
Remember when we were told George Hirst couldn’t do it in the Championship? Another outstanding display. He was singled out by Liam Rosenior midweek and was brilliant again. The ball sticks to him 9 times out of 10 and his movement is different class. Constantly improving. #itfc— Harvey Davies (@HDavies1804) October 7, 2023

There was a big debate on here at the time on whether it was right continuously selecting George Hirst at youth level when he wasn’t playing club football at all (because he wouldn’t sign a contract with Sheffield Wednesday). Nice to see him playing well now. Hirst, Brereton and Nketiah became the best 1999 CF options.

Zero appearances since he spoke about his issues with depression in January 2021, three appearances in the 18 months before that. Really hope this move will go well for him.
