Never such a thing as a friendly against Wales mate, plus it was a World Cup qualifier.

I was being sarcastic but did think Phil Neville’s tactics played into Wales’ tactics. Another similar opposition approach is coming up. Might be another struggle. No more home games left either. Imagine if Phil screws this up? I think it might happen.

The female UEFA U17 is also being held at the moment. England started with a 2-2 draw against Poland and then lost 1-2 to Spain. Defeated Italy 4-0 to take group runners up.

They'll play Germany in the semi final. The other semi is Spain v Finland. Aside from the final there is also a 3rd/4th playoff for the third and final Under17 World Cup spot.

Good first half from England, bit sloppy at the back for their goal but otherwise so far so good.

Yeah, every goal in the Phil Neville era so far has been from an awful individual error. Keira Walsh with a nice pass for the third England goal.

Their opening game is against defending champions North Korea on Sunday. Does anyone know if there is TV coverage?

The BBC have rights to show it but can’t see it being advertised much.

It is an interesting squad but I’m not sure how they will do. Don’t know much about the defenders but there is some good individuals in other areas of the squad.

Conceded an equalizer in the 92nd minute against Brazil.

A draw in the last group match against Mexico would seal a quarter-final place.

Played really well against Mexico, 6-1 victory. Hat-trick from Hemp. Another goal from Russo. Stanaway has scored in every group game.

Quarter-final will be against against the Dutch or hosts France.

Struggled a bit in the first half too. The system is quite top heavy. Russo, Hemp and Stanway having strong tournaments. Hopefully the quarters will be live on UK TV.

First time they have made the semi-finals of an U20 WC. Great news.

Eurosport coverage starting in an hour. Checked the bookmakers and they have Japan as favourites. Given they've already eliminated USA and Germany that's understandable.

Played a system that was too attacking for that game imo. Should have dropped a forward. Hemp and Stanway could step up to the senior squad imo. Good achievement to make the semis.
