The Telegraph are saying this ‘There are rumours Bright had also considered retirement, that she too had been told she is no longer guaranteed a starting place and did not want to travel as a result. Wiegman has not made any mention of this sort of decision.’ https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...-millie-bright-mary-earps-fran-kirby-wiegman/ Probably not but some of the media are already blaming her so if things don’t go well it couid be uncomfortable for her afterwards.
The Squad Goalkeepers: Hannah Hampton (Chelsea), Khiara Keating (Manchester City), Anna Moorhouse (Orlando Pride) Defenders: Lucy Bronze (Chelsea), Jess Carter (Gotham FC), Niamh Charles (Chelsea), Alex Greenwood (Manchester City), Maya Le Tissier (Manchester United), Esme Morgan (Washington Spirit), Leah Williamson (Arsenal), Lotte Wubben-Moy (Arsenal) Midfielders: Grace Clinton (Manchester United), Jess Park (Manchester City), Georgia Stanway (Bayern Munich), Ella Toone (Manchester United), Keira Walsh (Chelsea) Forwards: Michelle Agyemang (Brighton & Hove Albion, loan from Arsenal), Aggie Beever-Jones (Chelsea), Lauren Hemp (Manchester City), Lauren James (Chelsea), Chloe Kelly (Arsenal, loan from Manchester City), Beth Mead (Arsenal), Alessia Russo (Arsenal) Four players will be on standby for the tournament – Sophie Baggaley [Brighton & Hove Albion], Laura Blindkilde Brown [Manchester City], Missy-Bo Kearns [Aston Villa] and Lucy Parker [Aston Villa]. They will stay with the squad at St. George’s Park from the meet-up on Monday 16 June through to the day the squad travel to Switzerland on Monday 30 June. The three US-based players in the squad – Anna Moorhouse, Jess Carter and Esme Morgan – will all link up with the rest of the Lionesses from week commencing 23 June after the continuation of their domestic season. The squad includes 13 players who made history in lifting the trophy in 2022. Seven players – Michelle Agyemang, Aggie Beever-Jones, Grace Clinton, Khiara Keating, Maya Le Tissier, Anna Moorhouse and Jess Park – will be appearing at their first major tournament. In contrast, Lucy Bronze is set for her seventh major tournament and her fourth consecutive EURO. Notably, 22 of the 23-player squad have been capped for the Young Lionesses at development team level. Didn’t expect her to take Agyemang but I do rate her as a player so I can’t complain.
I wouldn't say Wiegman will get sacked but if there are people with an axe to grid they'll come out the woodwork like no ones business.

Lauren Smith has named her 21-strong squad for the 2025 #U19WEURO this summer! 👊— Lionesses (@Lionesses) June 10, 2025 Not a bad squad this. Should be aiming to least qualify for the U20 World Cup next summer.
Wiegman’s proven to be a way stronger tournament coach than the FIFA one week open window type matches(where she gets the squad together for only a few days) Dunno why she’s so much better at tournaments; probably puts her squad into boot camp style training camps, but it’s also known that she converses a lot with some of the Dutch famous coaches(Van Gael, Hiddrik?) to build an overall strategy for an upcoming tournament

UEFA will enter six teams to that Youth World Cup with hosts Poland taking one of those places. Only two teams at this U19 tournament won't qualify for next year so be a real disappointment if England are one of them. Agyemang is actually still eligible for this tournament! Thought Issy Hobson might get selected as she featured in warm-up defeat against Germany (and several WSL games for Everton) but she can still play U19 next season. Wasn't expecting (left back?) Chloe Sarwie to be picked, she was part of England U17 squad just this March. Sarwie is youngest player at this tournament. This opening match against Netherlands today will obviously be critical for their chances, game is being shown on Red Button. Followed by Portugal and then finishing group against what I assume are the favourites in Spain. Goalkeeper Katie Cox (sibling of Brentford and England youth goalie Matt Cox) is Captain apparently.
