Got the result. Some of our finishing was awful though. I always say it but I genuinely believe Russo and Hemp could have double the goals that they have for England if they were more clinical. That might cost us top spot because the tie breaker is the results between tied teams.

Nervy end bur great to win it. The goal was some sort of record (Was it fastest lioness goal at home?) so holding on is an achievement.

I presume that if us and Spain each win the other 4 that would cost us if Spain win by 2 or more in Majorica? I think If Spain win by 1 goal it would go to goal difference from all matches. .

Let's let that game play out first. I'm not doubting the girls under pressure. They are tough as nails and very disciplined in getting a job done.

a bit lucky as well but you´ll always need that against Spain. A bit worrying though to go full low-block and hoof the longer the game went on and to not create any clear-cut opportunities in the last 20 minutes. Can be punished on another day

With a tiring team, a brand new centre back pairing and Kendall getting her first start and playing quite well bar the miss… I’ll take that.

We will take any win over Spain. Great achievement but another goal would have put us in an amazing position.

Thought I’d also say that was a high quality game, even tactically that was top class so to win against a Spain I thought played pretty well. Sure goal didn’t happen for them with fine margins and we got it today but we beat a Spain team playing some nice football at times.

No need to overanalyse everything but this is a solid result for England.

England lost their last U19 qualifier against Switzerland anyway, despite having 15 attempts to the hosts 5 today. Swiss will be at the U19 summer tournament.

May Cruft started in midfield today. Still eligible for UEFA U17 tournament in Northern Ireland next month which will also act as qualifier for FIFA U17 World Cup.

However Chloe Sarwie and Laila Harbert were available for these U19 qualifiers and they stuck them in the U23 squad anyway...so not expecting Cruft to get that tournament experience despite missing out on it so far.

Presumably they might take May Cruft to the U20 World Cup later this year

I think so. Her hero is apparently Erin Cuthbert.

She certainly looks Scottish! I'm guessing it will be the first time an England player speaks with a Scottish accent if so.

But can you tell Karen Bardsley looks like American due to her classic California accent…
