Not officially switching like Declan Rice. Welsh born players have represented England but they went straight to England rather than from Wales to England. Someone like Ashley Phillips also played for Wales first before moving to England but never played competitively for Wales. So did not officially switch.

'We can win it': Agyemang talks to ITV News Sports Editor @stevescott_itv about her ACL recovery, faith and 2027 World Cup hopeshttps://t.co/UpnlZrSbVc— ITV News (@itvnews) February 23, 2026
England definitely can. The next World Cup winner — or the two finalists — will most likely depend on which team has the best depth-to-health ratio by the start of the tournament in 2027. England has one of the strongest squads in terms of depth. I firmly believe that England were Leah Williamson away from winning it all in 2023.
Question to fans here who follow the WSL: I’ve noticed that Emma Hayes seems almost trying her damnedest that no single American player in the USWNT squad is bigger than anyone on the team. Her style seems focused — even obsessed — with collective depth rather than developing Ballon d’Or winners. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I didn’t notice that approach as Chelsea’s manager.
England helped out by producing the best woso league in the world; WSL. But now they’re being challenged by the insane amount of money being spend in the yank’s NWSL. Besides that, quite a few other countries NT’s are using either those two entities as their flagship league(WSL home these days to the best players from Japan, Netherlands, Sweden eccedra & even add a lot of top French are migrating over too). One thing getting me is that English players aren’t exactly on fire in their own league with Jesse Park as the highest rated domestic at only #9 in FOTMOB’s best player rankings in the league(their’s two Japanese players ranked higher). The youth squads(u-23, u-19 & u-17) haven’t had substantial results as of late. Wiegman still is one of the best coaches around, but she’s more effective in tournaments than FIFA open window matches, so got the feeling we’ll see her struggle at bit in qualifiers

BBC reporter Emma Sanders not going to Turkey for Tuesday’s match due to security concerns. Might be a risk it gets called off by the FA.

Alex Greenwood misses this evening with a minor muscle injury and will continue to be assessed ahead of Saturday's fixture against Iceland.— Lionesses (@Lionesses) March 3, 2026
An odd match. First half was dull and then the second half was just a thrashing but that everytime Ukraine had the ball it also looked like they could score. Must be unusual to have 3 braces in a match.
I wouldn’t read too much into England players not succeeding in the WSL at the level they perhaps should. The game at the highest club level and at the international level is almost like a different sport because of stylistic discrepancies. Evaluating it is really an inexact science. Is as much as systematic sport as American football.

A clampdown on goalkeepers feigning injury in order to allow team-mates to take on instructions could soon come into effect, with the Women's Super League set to trial a new measure next season - The Mirror
Lauren Hemp misses so many sitters. Feels like every game she has two or three clear chances that she scuffs. Can’t believe one of the chances she missed. Now the TV team are praising her but ignoring she should have at the least two goals.

Glad we got Taylor Hinds to return for England. Left back has lacked depth and she looks a decent option. Assume decisive U17 match will be last match against Italy. So are May Cruft and Oboavwoduo injured or are they going to be playing U19 qualifiers next month?
