Sun name the players getting an honour. https://www.thesun.ie/sport/16278725/lionesses-gongs-new-years-honours-euros-triumph/ Surprised Walsh, Stanway, Toone and Greenwood don’t seem to be getting one.

The committee has misjudged that the mood of 2005 and Ashes is not really the mood now. Sporting honours are certainly a lot more popular than the politicians and civil servant ones.
Congratulations also to The @FA's head of women's medical and long-serving team doctor, Dr Ritan Mehta, and England legend Kerry Davis, the #Lionesses' first black international and goalscorer, who have both been recognised with MBE’s 👏 pic.twitter.com/pfP5pJm1I0— Lionesses (@Lionesses) December 29, 2025
Basically the obsession with numbers and quotas is getting worse and worse. No honours for Chloe Kelly or Hannah Hampton but it’s expected both will get recognition in a future list https://t.co/Twba6fIX7y— Kathryn Batte (@KathrynBatte) December 29, 2025

A Cabinet Office source said: “The committee is moving away from automatic honours for whole teams in one go, after events such as the Olympics.” That is such nonsense. There is no I in team is my view.
The UK is not alone. The entire Dutch women team in 2017 got honours which are granted by their king.
