No offence but I think all these discussions would be more worthwhile on the German boards rather than here as I would rather talk about England and English players...

It should be noted that Klose led the league in goals created in both 2005/2006 and 2006/2007.

So it should come as no surprise that Bayern is currently utilizing Klose's talents next to/around a big centre-forward in Toni.

In light of all the injury news, what do you see as the most probable England line-up for this match?

I wish we would be able to see both countries fielding their first choice teams.

With all of the injuries to Germany I can't see us winning the midfield battle in this one. Maybe you will get lucky and McClaren will have to line-up his midfield like this:
    Neville---Terry---Ferdinand---A.Cole
    Beckham---Hargreaves---Gerrard---J. Cole
    ---------Owen---Crouch
IMO that is the best possible midfield that England can produce.

Owen just came back from injury. It's too soon to put him in the starting line up. I can bet you my car we'll see Gerrard/lampard in the middle again.
Would like to see Richards and SWP have a starts given their good forms. I'm still skeptical if Dyer will perform under the circumstances he's in. I don't have much faith in Smith either. Crouch and AJ for me.

Here's a line-up I would like to see (shake things up a bit to a 4-3-3, highly unlikely I know)

    Robo
    Richards-Rio-Sol-A. Cole
    Becks-Carrick-J. Cole
    Owen-Crouch-Shaun Wright Phillips

David James is just a flat out better keeper than Paul Robinson.

ALso funny to see that David Bentley screwed his England chances with his antics earlier this year.

In all fairness to McSven, it's probably the best squad he has ever picked.

If he chooses a 4-5-1 formation again I will blow a gasket. Owen and Crouch up front of a 4-4-2..

One of the biggest things for me is movement off the ball. Its been abysmal over the last few matches This needs to come from the manager. In the same way an orchestra of top musicians need a conductor for direction, the players need clear a stratedgy to follow. I'm fed up of watching games when our defenders keep looking around the pitch, with their arms out asking for options, before hoofing it up to a forward.

If your get annoyed with a poor England performance, here's a little game we usually play to pass the time. It's called how many passes can England string together. It's a real insight when you watch them struggle to link more than 5 passes.

I'm not sure Beckham will play...

I am also not sure how competitive this match will be. It's just bad timing...Germany and England will be missing several or their starters as well as many regular subs due to injuries.

    Germany;
Ballack – regular starter and captain
Frings – regular starter and influential player
    Podolski – regular starter
    Jansen – regular starter

    Fritz – sometimes regular starter
    Borowski – sometimes regular starter
    Kehl – sometimes regular starter
    Gomez – new promising player
    Schlaudraff – new promising player
    Asamoah – super sub

Hopefully the young/newbies will be out playing 100% hoping to impress for a regular spot with the national team. New guys for Germany; Helmes, Rolfes, Pander, Khedira, Tasci (both 20 yrs)

    England:
    Rooney
    Lennon
    King
    Woodgate
    Bridge
    G. Neville

in the squad, but probably not playing:
    Terry
    Gerrard
    Beckham?
    Hargreaves?

Isn't it crazy that McSven is carrying a grudge against Bentley?

"I didn't pick him for our squad against Germany because he wussed out on going to the Euro 07 Youth Championship."

And he even uses that as his reasoning and that he told David that.

Why would he pick Gerrard who has the broken toe?

Not really. Bentley decided he didn't want to play for England in the summer. You can't just pick and choose when you want to make yourself available.

Well it's just funny because I believe this is the first time I don't have a problem with McSven's reasoning behind a decision.

    It feels...weird.

If he is fit enough to play for Liverpool against Chelsea, then he is fit enough to play for England.

    For a somewhat meaningless friendly?

Liverpool pays Gerrard's salary. The game against Chelsea is not meaningless and has huge implications for Liverpool, less so for Chelsea.

They are not of the same importance.

Gerrard could be fit enough to play for Liverpool but not fit enough to play for England in a friendly. :)

An England Germany friendly is bigger than some poxy league game between Liverpool and Chelsea, Liverpool won't do anything in the league, they haven't done for years now.
