I have this feeling that they are going to screw up his development yet again next season especially with less competitions. You can only hope that Alonso assesses him pretty much straight away and either keeps him for proper game time or send him on loan to somewhere he will get played, or sell him. The biggest fear for him would be if they buy a new centre half and keep him as third choice.

In this bonus episode, England men’s U21 head coach Lee Carsley shares the mindset, behaviours and decisions behind his coaching approach and back-to-back U21 European successes.

The conversation goes beyond tactics, offering insight into how Lee builds relationships with players, creates environments where individuals can thrive and manages the pressure of tournaments for coaches and players.

Didn't really watch any of Köln's games except for those against Dortmund tbh, only some highlights and clips. Looked a bit stiff to me at times and had a nightmare debut with the decisive own goal etc. but considering he was an emergency loan who was thrown right into their starting-lineup amidst an injury crisis and didn't see much of the field at Celtic it was a decent loan everything considered, I guess. One thing I've read multiple times that he's apparently been by far their best centreback on the ball, starting many attacks with accurety long-balls out to the flanks etc. whilst his defending was a mixed bag on occasions.
He also missed a game for them due to disciplinary reasons (rumour has it their newborn was ill and he drove them to the hospital and hence was late to training). But it can't have been too much of an issue as they were so keen on acquiring him on a permanent.

Tottenham have rejected several approaches for English striker Will Lankshear, with Spurs wanting £20m for the 21-year-old, who impressed on loan at Oxford last season and is being monitored by Sporting. (Hayters)

I'm having a hard time believing spurs are demanding 20m for a player who scored 11 in 43 last season. It would not even be clear that he would start for a top end championship side at this stage of his career.

I don't think 11 in 43 is a bad return considering just how bad Oxford were. Especially when you look at the tallies of the other Championship top scorers.

An interesting move for him, West Brom play 4-4-2 under Morrison, which is much more preferable for developing young strikers.

Also eligible for the next cycle, which is probably what he should be targeting, though it wouldn't take a great deal to put him in contention for this one you would think.

The appointment of Enzo Maresca as boss at Manchester City could lead to a major rebuild with England full-back Rico Lewis, 21, Netherlands defender Nathan Ake, 31, Spanish midfielder Nico Gonzalez, 24, Portugal defender Ruben Dias, 29, and Brazil winger Savinho, 22, all potentially up for sale.
