I wonder who in the 2027 euros Carsley will mould into his midfield two? 2023 = Jones & Gomes 2025 = Anderson & Scott 2027 = ???????????????
Very rare for us to call up outfielders from below the championship, but surely has to be in with a good chance for this squad given the complete and utter dearth of forwards. Only really Will Lankshear available, unless we promote Mheuka, who'd probably be more useful in the under 19 qualifying.
Ah yes, I forgot Stansfield! I guess he didn't have the reputation of a League One player with that 15m price tag mind you!
Worth a look considering we will likely lose Hall and O’Reilly to the seniors. Luke Chambers vs Middlesbrough pic.twitter.com/a5ptoy5Fq6— N 🇯🇲 (@cnsultra) March 12, 2026
I am not saying it will happen but Lewis-Skelly should be in this squad as a midfield option. Surely Carsley has been to see him? What a waste if not.
Agreed, I think there’s something very wrong when we keep on losing very good players due to being called up to the seniors very early but then go through a tough period and then deemed too good for the U21’s ( which I think is ridiculous) but not good enough for the seniors. We have had various examples over the years of ignoring talented players due to this scenario and they end up in football purgatory. Why they decide to alienate players who fall into this category I’ve no idea who would help strengthen the U21’s and also help boost the players confidence whilst going through a tough period.

Nwaneri must be playing absolutely garbage if he can’t get any minutes for this Marseille team tonight.

Yeah it very much seemed like De Zerbi was the entire reason they picked Marseille as his loan destination. I still think Arsenal will end up selling Nwaneri in the next year or two, for the simple reason it's going to be hard to develop him and Dowman at the same time with Saka and Madueke already there. I think Arteta has shown he's actually pretty poor at developing youngsters so far. He's made a pig's ear of managing MLS after his initial rise. He doesn't seem to know how to manage the natural fluctuation of a young player's performances like Pep does.
I'm starting to believe Dowman could actually overtake Nwaneri towards the end of the cycle as the starting 10.

Don’t think so. He was pictured arriving with the squad so presumably simply didn’t make the bench and was the reserve.
