Was looking at the realistic options for the start of the next campaign. Pretty healthy starting base - James Beadle, Tommy Simkin, Joe Whitworth. Ryan Andrews, Josh Acheampong, Nico O’Reilly, Oliver Scarles, Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, Ashley Phillips, Ayden Heaven, Ben Nelson, Brooke Norton-Cuffy. Lewis Miley, Jobe Bellingham, Chris Rigg, Jack Hinshelwood, Ethan Nwaneri, James McConnell, Toby Collyer Tyrique George, Tyler Dibling, Jamie Gittens, Romain Esse. Dane Scarlett, Divin Mubama, Jayden Danns.
I think Rico Lewis should probably be brought back into the fold (given he's be unlikely to feature massively for the seniors), think he'd benefit with from a U21s campaign, think he was captain earlier in this one.
Maybe but he’s a very unique option. Most of what he does at this level doesn’t really translate to senior level. So, bringing him back might be somewhat fruitless? Not that I would be against it.
Must be a chance Kobbie Mainoo is at least considered by Carsley for a drop back down. If it happens who knows. Rico Lewis will likely be involved in September. Carsley wanted him for this Euros. Lewis Hall will probably be in the seniors in September but if for whatever reason he is not he could be put in this level. Same in theory with Adam Wharton.
Yeah potentially, but would be a bit of waste to leave him in limbo, as I don't think he'll be in many senior squads.
Probably only if James, Trent and at least one of White/Walker/Livramento are all unavailable due to injury.
You could argue that but if we are bringing players back to U21 level we need to be figuring out what role they would be in theory playing eventually for the seniors.
For me I'd just pick the best group of players (unless they are likely to feature heavily for the Seniors). By the time the next U21 campaign comes to a close in 2026, we don't know who the senior coach will be or what type of role they'll demand from there full backs or any position.

yup. agreed. there's a big difference in taking a Rico Lewis to a major U21s tournament to have him experience all that comes with that versus putting him on a plane to Liechtenstein to play in a qualifier. needs to be figured out. case in point - this is Livramento's first ever tournament with England, which is why it i is far more valuable for him to be doing what he does with the 21s than sat on a bench in Barcelona watching the seniors play Andorra.

Apparently he scores very highly on a lot of data metrics for CBs across Europe. Makes sense that he's caught the eye of a data-driven club like Como.
