Louie Barry is miles too good for League 1 now, he's 22 in the summer so for the sake of career at top level he needs to make the jump to the Championship ASAP if he wants to end up a PL player
Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham are monitoring Borussia Dortmund 20-year-old England Under-21 forward Jamie Gittens. (Florian Plettenberg)
Hope he stays away from English clubs. He'll just disappear into their 'system ' and won't fulfil his potential
Every English player Dortmund has signed has basically come good, surprised they have gone after anymore English 18/19 year olds.
Looking at recent weeks I think it's fair to say Slot isn't that convinced by Quansah yet. Will be very interesting to see what happens if Van Dijk leaves at the end of the season.
The problem is anyone they want most likely gets priced out. Post Brexit, the Gittens and Sancho deal would not be possible (Bellingham would have had to wait also). Premier league clubs are so rich they simply won't sell top academy talent for anything less than an extortionate amount of money. Even the players they don't want usually go for very high fees.
Post the Brexit vote, but not post Brexit. The Brexit agreement kicked in 2021, so freedom of movement didn't end till 1st January 2021.
Interesting group. Not a particularly strong German team on paper but collectively a very good one. Watched them against France the other week and the French have way more talent but Germany looked the better team. They'll be much stronger than they were in the last Euros I think.
We get two of the teams who were in our group last time. Slovenia were ahead of France in their qualifying group. So, should be three good games to experience.
England’s Group B draw for European Under-21 Championship finals in Slovakia: versus Czechia on June 12 at 7pm (UK) in Dunajska Streda (35 miles from Bratislava); Slovenia on June 15, 4pm, in Nitra (55 miles from Bratislava); and Germany on June 18, 7pm in Nitra. Quansah starting today with Trent being rested on the bench. And with Harwood - Bellis suspended Nathan Wood is starting for Southampton.
One of the few players that did well, played most of the game at RB and the last half hour at CB. His one on one defending was much improved today.
Southampton's Tyler Dibling is being watched by Manchester United and Aston Villa, and the 18-year-old English midfielder is also on the radar of clubs in Germany and Italy. (Sun) Celtic could look to sign Chelsea's 21-year-old English forward Carney Chukwuemeka on loan in January. (Football Insider)
Hmmm, well a move to Celtic would be better than just staying at Chelsea and not playing ( obviously ) but think I would rather see him give it go abroad, maybe Italy or Germany if there are good offers in the table. Would like to see him get in the U21 squad for the finals next year.
