Another goal for Scarlett, who for some reason didn’t start after scoring 2 in 3. GOAL, Dane Scarlett scores for Oxford vs Swansea! ⚽️🏴 https://t.co/B2B5OCjdUX— Spurs Global (@spurssglobal) November 2, 2024
I've just realised that Harrison Burrows is eligible for this team. Assuming Lewis Hall moves up to the seniors very soon, Burrows (along with Cirkin) should really be in this side. Will be hugely annoying if Carsley relies mainly on Callum Doyle at left-back.
Really nice assist by Jon Rowe, Neal Maupay 💥 !!!#FCNOM pic.twitter.com/HayHHdncIH— Actus OM (@_actus_OM) November 3, 2024
The more social media Liverpool fans really don’t like Jarell Quansah do they. Loads of them seem desperate for him to be sold as soon as possible.
That's just online fans' consistent attitude. They have no true connection to the fabric of clubs and have 0 patience with academy players because they're desperate for a constant supply of transfer dopamine. Their opinion doesn't really matter because there's absolutely no nuance in their views. That said, Quansah does have a lot in his game to iron out. He's potentially a very good player but it's hard to develop at a club of Liverpool's size if you can't swim in the deep end. Liverpool will have to manage him carefully.
They were like that will Curtis Jones a few years ago. Online fans for any club are mostly clueless.Half the time they just say shit online to get likes.
I wonder if Norwich's Kellen Fisher might have a chance of getting promoted to this squad with Livramento likely to be in the seniors for the foreseeable. He's having a very strong season. There's no other natural right-back in the squad without Livramento and Fisher gives you those penetrative runs from deep that Gray or Hinshelwood wouldn't.

One of the issues with losing Carsley for another meet up is that these next games become a bit rudderless. Even if Futcher picks some new options they might not be options that Carsley will like for next year. So, Futcher might just stick with the same options because he’s very much using another persons team.
Yeah, it's a real shame that Tuchel isn't taking over until March. On a side note, there's been a clear regression in this team since Carsley left and he doesn't have long to put the pieces back together before the Euros now, which might lead him to stick with his trusted guys and shy away from many new call ups. I don't doubt he'll get the team back up to scratch, but I certainly think it's an impediment to this lot being at their best next summer.
Aston Villa are close to agreeing a bumper new contract with English forward Morgan Rogers, 22. (Football Insider)
Hall and Rogers both being linked to the seniors so we might get 1 or 2 new names at least at this level.
Players like Rowe and Iling-Junior/Doyle could plug those gaps. Feels like Wharton is more likely to be replaced by an uncapped option (Maybe Jobe?).
Anyone think Nwaneri is ready for the U21s ? I haven't seen much of him but when I have he looks the Business.
I'm not a massive fan of moving player up before we need to, but Nwaneri looks almost guaranteed to be a senior England international at some point, so it would probably be good for him to get an U21 tournament under his belt before then, rather than just skipping those experiences like Mainoo, Lewis etc.
Iling - Jr starts for Bologna tonight in the CL. Gittens makes it back from Inury to start for Dortmund.
What footys about ❤️⚔️ https://t.co/teTIvsrWkF— Harrison Burrows (@BurrowsHarrison) November 5, 2024 Another goal for Harrison Burrows last night, 2 in 2 now. I haven't watched too much of Sheff Utd this season but the consensus from their fans is that his performances are really strong, even outside of the goals.
We're pretty bad at getting people who've historically been outside the system into the squad when it comes to the under 21s usually. It seems oftentimes we prefer to fit square pegs into round holes, if it becomes a choice of making picks who've been around the underage set ups vs late bloomers/players rising up from lower teams. Doyle's a solid enough player but he's very clearly a centre back who plays left back when you see him. I never really understood why Lewis Hall was kept back with the under 20's for last season either, given we had Bashir Humphreys playing left back in a number of games. Between Hall, Burrows, Arcie Brown at Gent, and possibly Cirkin we actually have a very competitive list of left backs for this level right now, despite our artificial scarcity.
Yeah it's very frustrating and I really can't see the logic behind it. I didn't even realise Burrows was eligible for this squad until very recently but (along with Hall) I think you'd have to say he should've been a regular member of this squad last season given how dominant he was in League One. Ridiculous given there are only two camps left before the Euros squad gets named now.
