Right, so playing someone who is clearly struggling and not making much impact on the games anyway is the best way to go! Ridiculous!
A shame for Wharton because it reflects badly on him also (though I'd assume he's been assessed by the fa at this point). A difficult situation to be in for sure. For his own sake he's going to have to put his foot down with Glasner if he is actually injured because the long term repercussions on it are going to be far greater on him than a manager who has a good chance of not making it till Christmas.
I’m not sure if he has. Some tweets have said he has but the FA announcement just says him and Hackney have stayed with their clubs on medical advice without confirming anything.
Lining up tonight... 🥁📺 Watch our #YoungLions live on the England YouTube channel from 7.45pm (UK): https://t.co/P0CIB2hTpF pic.twitter.com/NdweOU1OCX— England (@England) October 11, 2024 No sign of Callum Doyle, Teden Mengi or Jay Stansfield. Sam Tickle left out as the third choice goalkeeper as well. Morgan Rogers only on the bench is a bit of surprise as well.
Not really much coherency to what Futcher is doing. Our only senior team ready option in Rogers is benched in the biggest game of the group? Is Hutchinson wide in this system? Hard to figure out for me. UEFA have us with two keepers on the bench but no Stansfield or Mengi? Only got one defender on the bench.
Morgan Rogers picked up knock #AVLMUN, trained for first time with #ENG U21s only yesterday, so on bench v Ukraine tonight. Callum Doyle, Jay Stansfield and Teden Mengi not involved after picking up minor knocks in training. pic.twitter.com/3BTk6xzzUB— Henry Winter (@henrywinter) October 11, 2024 Did they all crash into each other? How do three players all get minor knocks in a few days of training?
Bit weird to have that many issues in a short space of time. Jonathan Rowe probably would have started if selected.
I actually think this lineup looks incredibly balanced. Not to say I'm that confident about the game because we weren't all that impressive in the last break. Assuming it's Gray right-back, Hinshelwood in midfield and Hutchinson wide right.
I’ve never seen three players missing for a team all with minor trianing injuries that have occured that week.
It happens occasionally. I guess with the schedules nowadays they might be extra careful with niggles.
Morton has played a few lovely passes. We have been too slow with the ball at times. Ukraine are being very defensive. No point having Hinshelwood at RB in these circumstances. Need a more direct threat.
Morton has easily been our standout. Hall's been decent too. Hutchinson has been desperately poor with the ball and I don't think McAtee is offering enough in that role either.
Morton really needs a loan in January. Probably the biggest frustration of the transfer window that he didn’t go to Germany. Think it would have been an ideal scenario. Yeah, McAtee got a bit more involved towards the end. Was a bit of a struggle at times early on to figure out what his role actually was. With selection policy and the pull outs our bench doesn’t look that inspiring. Gittens and Scott are probably our best impact options. Not sure Rogers is worth risking if not 100%.
It is ridiculous that we lost Tino Livramento for this game when he very likely isn’t getting near the senior team pitch in this meet up. Playing Hinshelwood like this seems pretty pointless.
One of the best games I've seen from Hall so far, won the ball back so many times and a few nice runs forward.
We’re a little bit unlucky in front of goal, things just not going our way in that regards but our actual play has been pretty good.
Yeah it’s a bug bear of mine promoting too early just to sit on the bench when they could be contributing to trying to get us to the Euro finals.
Whatever happens with Carsley, Futcher can't be getting this job permanently. We should have scored a few tonight but everything is so basic tactically. A lot of our chances have come from big errors from them, we haven't created enough from open play of our own doing. This is twice in three games where we've looked average against a defensive team. That hardly happened under Carsley regardless of who played.
