We've completed the signing of Callum Doyle from Manchester City 🤝The 20-year-old defender joins on a season-long loan deal 🔰— Norwich City FC (@NorwichCityFC) August 6, 2024
He'll probably have a career in the Premier League but I doubt many clubs see him as an elite prospect because of his physical profile. He's pretty slow while also being fairly averagely sized for a CB. He's great on the ball and definitely a decent defender so maybe he's being undervalued slightly, but generally PL clubs tend to only target the best of the best when they go for young and inexperienced English players. If you're going into the EFL for a young English CB you'd pick Charlie Hughes imo.

Understand Crystal Palace will add a call-back clause in any deal with #SUFC for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi loan. Sheffield Utd will pay more than £1m in loan fees and 100% of his wages. #QPR, #HCAFC, #LUFC and Burnley among those to lose out on #CPFC man on loanhttps://t.co/9oneIxXAu3— Dom Smith (@MrDomSmith) August 8, 2024
Nothing against Futcher but the criteria for getting this role has to be better than solely being the current coach of the level below. This is how we ended up with Aidy Boothroyd. Needs to be evidence that the coach can implement a specific style.
Surprised a PL team hasn’t bid for him. 🚨🔵⚪️ EXCL: Olympique Marseille send formal bid to Norwich for Jonathan Rowe. He’s among targets for OM as talks took place on player side and now also club to club. pic.twitter.com/JiOagdrm6l— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 9, 2024

Yeah it’s taking a chance in a situation that we have to beat Ukraine at home to win the group so it’s a big call from the FA. I presume one of the issues is question marks over Carsleys future, does he remain the manager of the seniors or drop back down? I suppose it’s hard for the FA to get someone in on short notice to cover what might only be a few games or potentially longer depending on what happens with Carsley. Who do you think we could have got in Baz or could have been approached?
There's still a lot of Championship talent just waiting to improve a team in the PL. Rowe looks likely to go which is good, but Clarke, Sheaf and Hackney are three of the most PL ready of all the English players in that league, including the ones who have signed with PL clubs this summer. The Clarke one is tough because Sunderland are asking for £25m and they're wealthy enough to hold out for that amount. I still think (hope) there's an outside chance Sheaf gets a move, but the interest in Hackney just doesn't seem to be there while £25m for Clarke just obviously isn't deemed a good deal by most PL clubs.
🚨 Jonathan Rowe has decided to withdraw from #NCFC's squad today for the game against Oxford United. That is his decision - made this morning. No transfer close at the moment. Marseille the only team who have made a bid. Christian Fassnacht replaces him.— Connor Southwell (@cjsouthwell1902) August 10, 2024
The 3 group runners up with the most points also qualify directly so we'd almost certainly qualify regardless of the Ukraine game, barring some kind of disaster like losing the remainign 3 games.
I wasn’t even thinking of the current campaign. More long term. Futcher has barely taken charge of many England youth games. Hard to know what he will even be like. I haven’t got an individual preference. Just want the selection process to be pretty rigorous for this role. Doesn’t look like it will be though.
🚨🔵 Bashir Humphreys will leave Chelsea in the coming days either on loan or permanent.Leeds United and Burnley among clubs showing concrete interest, Bundesliga clubs also keen as England U21 international will try new chapter. As it stands, Chelsea prefer a sale. pic.twitter.com/ShgPqOAjpx— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 10, 2024 🚨🔵 Pep Guardiola on McAtee: “I said to Txiki Begiristain: I don't want to loan him, I don't want to sell him”.“I need his specific ability in small spaces”. pic.twitter.com/V1Hisin831— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 11, 2024
Palace want Chelsea wonder boy … Link in bio— Alan Nixon (@reluctantnicko) August 11, 2024 He's hit and miss is Nixon but people who subscribe to him are saying it's Chukwuemeka. He fits into Glasner's system as an attacker and Chelsea released a brief a few weeks ago insinuating they'd sell him for £40m. Would be a great move for Carney tbh.
Yeah it's hard to say. I think they could use him either way personally. There's still a big hole in their attack after Olise leaving.
This is an interesting one. He's got loads of ability and I hope that we get him back in the group if he starts to perform. The big challenge will be the IC though as they'll offer senior call-ups I think. He was at one point a really enthusiastic England player. I fear that McAtee will have a season in the shadows. He is talented but I'm not sure he has what it takes to get much game time for City this season.
