There are so many camps and opportunities that they try not neglect the younger and or smaller talents any way. Those that can look after themselves better will get opportunities earlier and there will be those on the database that will get opportunities down the line when they can do so and it really isn't loads and loads of change. If you look at u15 camps there is a decent batch of club u14s every age group now. They look at so many players at u15/u16 level. They try to back those that they feel are most ready for u17 level from those 2 years. Anyone who slips the net above has u18 level to push their case for u19s and so on. And if we are being honest, we are producing athletes with almost perfect techniques anyway who form the core of squads to start. The smaller one's will prove themselves in their own time (when the time is ready if they haven't done so at younger levels).
Never been a problem in the USA with their children's (American) football. Pee wee (everything under high school age) is seperated into weight brackets. Irrespective of age.
Well, there have never been any reports of any problems with the system. That is a lot more substantial than mere speculation that there could be some. But we're talking about a few months difference in age making a big physical difference. The case for a player being emotionally vulnerable to playing with kids a few months older is flimsy at best.
Your suggestion was to pick by size not age. That would lead to a much bigger distribution than just a few months. Some 8 year olds are the size of 12 year olds and vice versa.
I think he means biological age not size. You can have a kid who’s 14 year old but only 5ft however built like an 18 year old with developed muscles. Then you could have a 14 year old who’s yet to hit puberty, who could also be 5ft or even 5ft5 and still yet to hit his puberty growth spurt. When the testosterone kicks in it makes a hell of a difference in a player. This is why kids who grow early can often standout as the best player on the pitch because they can just run past opponents easily and out strength them.
I don't think the sports are all that comparable. American football is so much more about physique than football is.
Would expect him to be in the initial squads. https://www.teamtalk.com/news/exclu...-stay-despite-chelsea-man-utd-liverpool-links

Judging from the School that has tweeted, I’d say either Utd or City at a guess as Poynton is in Manchester.
A bit of guesswork, but in addition to folk we've already listed this season, these are maybes: Alfie Dorrington (Tottenham) Ranel Young (Liverpool) Ronnie McGrath (Leeds)
