There are no official tournaments for the u15s so it’s always good to see these tournaments pop up, gives us a chance to see the talent that is around. And I think there is a lot of talent and to see which players break through in the next few years. I got the impression that junior is lacking hunger for the game only time will tell
Is Jayden Kouossu not yet eligible for England? I suspect he was born in Italy? He's quite highly rated at Newcastle from what I've heard but hasn't been invited to the friendlies against Turkey nor to the Vlatko Markovic tournament...
He was at a U15 camp in December so he is eligble for non competitive at least. He reposted Kilwa’s post from today so still wants to be involved as well. He has been in UK for a decade or so a British is probably possible if he doesn’t have one yet.
The KDB Cup games (tomorrow and the day after) will be streamed on YouTube on the channel Veotechnologies again (so not the best quality but better than nothing ofc). Many of the selected Chelsea players will be on display and Man City´s there as well. We might also get a first glimpse of some of Chelsea´s promising ´11s as they often like to send a mixed age group selection to this tournament, Heze scored for them in the last year´s edition which was for ´09 and younger players for example.
Having watched all of Chelsea´s KDB Cup matches today, it´s stunning just how much Reggie Watson looks a step above everybody else on that Chelsea side.
Watched a little bit of the KDB cup, only just saw some of the Chelsea game v Anderlecht. Surprised how good Chelsea look tbh, pretty much dominated from what I saw and really liked the look of the big guy at the base of their midfield, really composed player, know idea who he is but played in a blinder of a ball for the winger before he scored.
That Chelsea-Bayern game was one of the best youth matches I've seen for a little while, absolutely mental end. Watson got sent off though so will presumably miss the semis.
Yeah normally at Youth level you see a tall guy and just presume about his physical levels compared with everyone else but it was clear as day that the kid can play too.
They went out in the quarters to Barca. They were 1-0 up and were somewhat in control of the game but conceded two cheap goals in the space of a couple of minutes. David Eze (#8) was probably their standout. Xavier Parker (#10) also good, although might be a bit of an early developer.
Just on Chelsea, I didn’t see this rigid structure that we fear is developing at Youth level but I didn’t see the whole game so maybe I didn’t see enough or?
I haven't watched so I can't comment but if so that's positive. I would say though that most of the coaches in charge are still the guys who were there under Bath/Fraser, and that will likely change over time as the new lot are due to ramp up their "restructuring" in the coming months. The one coaching appointment they have made so far, Felipe Coehlo, is in charge of the U21s and he makes Maresca look like Luis Enrique. Whether that's a sign of what's to come further down I don't know.
JJ Gabriel staying at Manchester United. 🚨 JJ Gabriel has committed his future at #mufc. The 14-year-old looked set to leave this summer before a crucial intervention from Jason Wilcox and Matt Hargreaves as key meetings in past week swung it. Kutendah Mheuka already on trial with Chelsea. Would be a shame for Brighton to lose him as well, especially since this group of Brighton players has had some deep runs in tournaments. Their gk Cash Bradley won an individual award too for example. Another early standout seems to be a striker called Ashiah Haughton-Sinclair who's scored many goals for Spurs at u15 level. However, I've never seen anything from him so can't say if he might simply be physically ahead of the defenders he's faced so far.
