I imagine that's GK Smith RB Carrington LB Kapotwe CB Kenchington CB Fejokwu CM Longman CM Eze AM Grimwade LW Faromo-Adebayo RW Adjei CF Blake Meaning a full-change team for the next game might be this GK Phillips/Jack RB Jobling LB Kilwa CB Henry CB Yeutembip CM Watson CM Dako AM Gabriel LW Motsi RW Abe CF Sessegnon Kilwa is cut off that image but he's 23 in this squad. He's not known as a LB but he's the only one who might play there from the squad available.
Portugal and Greece drew 1:1; Portugal equalised in the last minute of extra time. Sorry for being off-topic, but found it interesting to see three players from German clubs for Greece (one of them even playing up a year) so I assume they are all dual-nationals who represent Greece (for now) which is quite high compared to other times. Usualy, German-Greeks tend to prefer Germany until it becomes obvious they won´t have a chance of senior minutes unlike German-Turkish for example. I guess they will try to increase resources for their dual recruiting after their coup with Karetsas and their recent streak of good results at senior level. They are apparently working on setting up talent ID and recruitment centres in Stuttgart (by far the largest German-Greek community) and LA with other places set to follow. So they could potentially become even better in the future along with their own youth development which has also been quite good lately.
They might just not be good enough for Germany. England has countless youth players with other nations that have little chance of getting a call from England, even with countries like Italy. I think a lot of nations are just stacking squads with duals these days to get them in the system just in case.
Incredible scenes yesterday as Chelsea’s Reggie Watson hit a free kick in stoppage time for England against Greece just like David Beckham did 24 years ago 😱 pic.twitter.com/0klGdFEoZi— TheSecretScout (@TheSecretScout_) May 14, 2025
I could imagine them being pretty successful with it. They've enough talent in the near term to consistently qualify for tournaments and potentially do quite well. They've also got a decent amount of soft power as a country and their culture/nation is quite highly thought of in many ways, which I think is a factor in these things.
Team today is the bottom one but Lucca Bennetton is in goal. Positions uncertain, Yeutembip could be CB or RB, Jobling could be RB or RW, Watson could be DM or CB, Kilwa could be LB or LW etc etc.

The first 5mins England with all the possession, English players seem to be bigger and stronger physically
Oh wow what I”m I watching here 0-2 Portugal Portugal come out for the 2nd half and in the 1st min score then 4 min get the 2nd
Free kick to England the ball comes off the cross bar and the follow on play keeper with another stunning save
looked a lot better in midfield once Watson came on imo. Another puzzling selection by Futcher to not start him in the most important game of the group along with him not starting a recognised striker (I believe Trey Faromo was the starting striker, could be wrong ofc). Also why is Futcher the head coach? I thought it was Tom Curtis who I liked as the interim for the u18/19s in some friendlies or have I missed something?
