Jobe is really kicking on, he's now a key player for one of the favourites to win The Championship title. He'll be in the Premier League next season one way or another. The thought of him one day playing for England alongside his brother seems more and more plausible.
Jacob Wright, Simpson-Pusey & Nico O’Reilly stepped up last night. Full 90 for O’Reilly - only lost the ball once and nearly scored an equaliser. Jacob Wright played higher than usual and his pressing exuded a big game mentality - a few curling shots, clever passing. Simpson-Pusey swept up nicely a few times and strode into midfield with the ball a few times. Very promising from the above, I’m expecting those three with Jaden Heskey to push into our under 21s side after the summer.

What happened in that game then? Stats look like a low block and counter from Sporting that worked really well. Did Simpson-Pusey struggle?
I didn’t see the game as was working but listened on the radio. Seems he got bullied for the first goal by the Swede who was basically out muscled and out paced but maybe someone who saw the game can confirm it. Not sure about the other goals but from listening, it seemed like we dominated the ball but got hit on the counter numerous times and couldn’t deal with the runners.
I was watching Liverpool so I can't speak but I've seen the goals and he struggled on Sporting's first one. I like Simpson-Pusey but Gykoeres is a particularly bad matchup for a young and physically developing centre-back because he's a physical specimen himself. With the high line that City play and how vulnerable they've been in transition all season (regardless of who plays) it feels like he was set up to fail a bit.
Generally no, but on one of the goals when he was left to track someone who was through you might expect a more experienced player to do more to put the attacker off.
Ben Nelson went off injured for Oxford midweek, was due to have a scan not sure on the outcome so may miss this round of fixtures
