Max Dean scored again in his 2nd game for Gent off the bench.

Many Liverpool fans don’t seem particularly happy with this. Presumably they will install a buy back clause for the future. Could be a good move for him though as Red Bull seem pretty good at bringing through talents.

(this is the right section for Dane?, I know he's been in the u21 squad once)

Yeah I think this is right. This is where I think he'll be next month anyway.

Interesting move. Not really sure how to feel about it. Harris could prove a fairly reliable scorer in this league so it might be hard for Scarlett to nail down a starting spot, but Oxford don't really have any other standout strikers so he should get chances.

When Cozier-Duberry signed for Brighton he cited their developmental pathway as the reason he chose them, but they now look like they're going to end up spending €65m on two other youngsters in his position. Not really sure what their plan is here.

Most likely but it’s not really a massive deal where things go until we get the first squads of the season announced.

It is going to be interesting to see what happens this season because we are going to have a real backlog of players at this age group. There are going to be loads of 2003, 2004 and 2005 options that likely aren’t going to make the U21 squad.

They aren’t eligible for any other competitive age group. So, we will have about three squads worth of playing options competing for this squad during this season.

Who would he be competing with for making it in to the u21 squad? I know Stansfield will likely be there. Delap and Rowe + any wide players like Rogers/Madueke that could be up top? He'll probably have Lankshear coming up from u19s too so wasn't sure if he'd get squeezed out altogether. Dane's been in pretty decent form for England u20s with 7 goals from his last 4 games obviously under Ben Futcher who's now leading the 21s so he'll at least have that going for him.

It depends what Futcher does. Carsley was only really picking two genuine CF’s and was always comfortable placing numerous options more central. If Futcher starts picking three then Scarlett gets in.

Joe Edwards would be the U21 coach now if he hadn’t taken that Millwall role.

Could be a good move, plenty of football you’d think and a shop window for future moves.

Looks like Hull are about to sign Mason Burstow permanently too.

Pep Lijnders is the new coach there and obviously he knows him well.

I really like this move. Earthy is a really good prospect and I think Bristol City are a good fit.

Not a bad first loan move, very little upheaval and hopefully plenty of minutes, I expect it will be similar to Devine's loan last season with a break clause in January.

Yeah, think he didn’t want to re-sign with West Ham because of a lack of a pathway to the first team.
