Many Liverpool fans don’t seem particularly happy with this. Presumably they will install a buy back clause for the future. Could be a good move for him though as Red Bull seem pretty good at bringing through talents.
Dane Scarlett has joined Championship side Oxford United on loan for the 2024/25 season.Good luck, Dane! 👊— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) August 12, 2024 (this is the right section for Dane?, I know he's been in the u21 squad once)
Yeah I think this is right. This is where I think he'll be next month anyway. Interesting move. Not really sure how to feel about it. Harris could prove a fairly reliable scorer in this league so it might be hard for Scarlett to nail down a starting spot, but Oxford don't really have any other standout strikers so he should get chances.
🚨🔵 Brighton are completing deal to sign Brajan Gruda on permanent move from Mainz.Exclusive story from July on Gruda being top target for Brighton now confirmed as Fabian Hürzeler has been pushing to sign him.Fee will be €30m with details being sorted, as per @Plettigoal. pic.twitter.com/ki7yHzR9dE— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 12, 2024 When Cozier-Duberry signed for Brighton he cited their developmental pathway as the reason he chose them, but they now look like they're going to end up spending €65m on two other youngsters in his position. Not really sure what their plan is here.
Most likely but it’s not really a massive deal where things go until we get the first squads of the season announced. It is going to be interesting to see what happens this season because we are going to have a real backlog of players at this age group. There are going to be loads of 2003, 2004 and 2005 options that likely aren’t going to make the U21 squad. They aren’t eligible for any other competitive age group. So, we will have about three squads worth of playing options competing for this squad during this season.
Who would he be competing with for making it in to the u21 squad? I know Stansfield will likely be there. Delap and Rowe + any wide players like Rogers/Madueke that could be up top? He'll probably have Lankshear coming up from u19s too so wasn't sure if he'd get squeezed out altogether. Dane's been in pretty decent form for England u20s with 7 goals from his last 4 games obviously under Ben Futcher who's now leading the 21s so he'll at least have that going for him.
It depends what Futcher does. Carsley was only really picking two genuine CF’s and was always comfortable placing numerous options more central. If Futcher starts picking three then Scarlett gets in.

Understand Jamie Donley is set to head out on loan to Leyton Orient. Should get plenty of minutes at the League One club for his development. He's also expected to be handed a new contract at Spurs. Not a bad first loan move, very little upheaval and hopefully plenty of minutes, I expect it will be similar to Devine's loan last season with a break clause in January.
🚨🔵 EXCL: Man City to sign one more talent as they close in on Divin Mubama deal.OL and Famalicão were in talks but City hijack move as they see Mubama as homegrown player who could develop with right pathway.Mubama will be in Manchester this season then potential loan. pic.twitter.com/oEwhy4qt7w— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 15, 2024
Yeah, think he didn’t want to re-sign with West Ham because of a lack of a pathway to the first team.
