Sounds like Gelhardt impressed off the bench for Leeds today. "In the final 15 minutes, he got the penalty and he had options to score one or perhaps two goals. And I have the impression that him alongside Rodrigo in the second half created enough chances to win the game."Bielsa on Gelhardt. #LUFC https://t.co/f29NdxnhsZ— Joe Donnohue (@JoeDonnohue) October 23, 2021
Can't say he's near to that quality yet but he really does resemble a young Wayne Rooney in terms of style of play.
I think we can finally forget the likes of Brewster and Balogun starting for the U21s. Gelhardt is more than ready.

Find it funny how Cameron Archer was included after Dean Smith said he was eligible for Wales (he isn't) and the papers were saying Jamaica wanted to call him up. Great job by his agent (I presume).
Leighton Clarkson isn't Blackburn standard never mind international standard. Hes been terrible for rovers

Weird one, not posted on the initial thumbnail picture, but Tyler Morton is in the squad. On the website now.
Yeah you’d assume, but on the MU20’s squad page he doesn’t have the asterisk and information to signify that’s the case like Welch etc do.
McAtee signs on with City. Hopefully this means we’ll see a lot more of him. He’s 19 and the best player in the u23 league so he needs some senior football.
Hopefully it means him and Cole Palmer can work together as they have apparently fallen out. When I saw the rumour he might have been leaving I did wonder if Man City had decided they couldn’t be in the same team but obviously that is not the case.
I can't help but feel being the best player in the under 23 league is getting into being the tallest dwarf territory. If you're THAT rated, you probably won't be playing much under 23 football (unless you're especially young). Certainly looking over previous premier league 2 players of the season its not particularly a who's who of players going on to be top talent. Oliver McBurnie, Reiss Nelson, Aaron Connoly, Curtis Jones, Liam Delap being te previous winners. Also pretty notable if you look at the England team, pretty much all the outfielders had graduated to senior football at least at some level in their teens.
Sure but if you're that good at that level then you need to start playing senior football. In the case of McAtee, he was in the last 18 months of his contract with City and it seemed there was a good chance he'd leave. Unfortunately that meant that City were unlikely to prioritise him for minutes under those conditions. Clubs cynically use that power dynamic to get young players to sign on in order to protect their investment. Given that and the level of competition in his position at City, his absence of minutes so far isn't something to get too concerned about yet, although it would've been better for him to go out on loan you feel. I'd add that Jones and Delap are still well in contention to have highly successful careers too.
