England U-20 Discussions Thread (2004 born)

Following @UEFA’s announcement that this year’s #U19EURO tournament has been cancelled, we have been allocated one of five spots for European teams at next year’s #U20WC.

It's only just official.
Netherlands, Italy, France and Portugal join England with the European teams.

 

Also harsh on the other Nations though, it’s never really a great feeling to qualify this way if I’m honest. Will take it obviously but just kind of feels like we won a raffle prize.

 

Yeah, I agree, I'd rather qualify on merit. UEFA clearly want to reduce number of games.

Harvey White a forward? I thought he was a midfielder or have I got that wrong?

 

Wouldn't pay any attention to the positions, several are wrong.

 

I think we've lost noni madueke. Hes not in any of the underage groups

 

PSV have problems with COVID in their squad, there's no way they'd let him travel for a training camp.

There’s no way any youth team players will be involved in any training Squads who are based overseas. The only exception would be the U21’s who have games. You need to relax @roverman buddy.

 

It’s not often you’re relived that some people have Covid.

 

Leighton Clarkson starts for Liverpool in the CL.

 

Klopp on the inclusion of Leighton Clarkson: “Leighton is one of the biggest talents in our club. He’s a midfielder No8 or No6. He’s a very talented boy and I’m really happy to give him his opportunity because he deserves it.”

Klopp also says Clarkson reminds him of a famous German international but rather infuriatingly, doesn’t mention who, possibly because he doesn’t want to put undue pressure on the boy.

 

Thomas Hasler

 

Yet to see Clarkson, if it is Hasler then I’m disappointed he hasn’t been popped in sooner.
