2 more for Tyrese Campbell on Saturday. He continues to impress since he's been starting regularly. Tyrese’s Tricks 🔥 #SCFC #TBPTVpic.twitter.com/G9y5qyBomo— The Bear Pit TV (@TheBearPitTV) July 4, 2020
Long shot but did anyone see Luis Binks in the last Montreal game? I saw a pre-lockdown game and he was one of their better players.
I watched it, he played pretty well. It’s a shame he’s played so little football in the last 6 months. His playing style and progressive passing reminds me a lot of Jan Vertonghen. I think he’ll be back in Europe in a year or two, I think Montreal have the same ownership group as Bologna, so that could well be his next stop.
His passing and hairstyle definitely strike me as more Toby. Hope he comes back to Europe soon. Pleased he took the step outside of his comfort zone but he needs to be in Europe
Strength in depth showing in the U21’s and below. This is who I’d pick... Ashby-Hammond, Thomas, Binks, Harwood-Bellis, Laird, Garner, Anjorin, Sibley, Gordon, Balogun, Appiah Tough to leave out Doyle but him and Garner like to take up similar positions.
I know there's been a lot of worrying about this age group, but I wouldn't be too concerned. As they're finishing the 19/20 U19 Euros cycle, effectively the U20s will be together all year playing in competitive games anyway (if they keep winning). Qualifiers in October, group stage November, knockout stage in March. Obviously downside is that some 'older' guys who would be U20 eligible for Elite League won't play but it's not the worst. U18s might just not play though.
MU20s v Wales, International Match, Tuesday 13 October 2020, St. George’s Park Squad announced: 11.30am, Friday 2 October
The Squad Goalkeepers: Luca Ashby Hammond (Fulham), Marcus Dewhurst (Sheffield United, on loan to Carlisle), Carl Rushworth (Brighton & Hove Albion) Defenders: Ajibola Alese (West Ham United), Lee Buchanan (Derby County), Taylor Harwood-Bellis (Manchester City), Henry Lawrence (Chelsea), Valentino Livramento (Chelsea), ), Luke Thomas (Leicester City), Rhys Williams (Liverpool) Midfielders: Xavier Amaechi (Hamburg SV), Tommy Doyle (Manchester City), James Garner (Manchester United, loan to Watford), Anthony Gordon (Everton), Paris Maghoma (Brentford), Jacob Ramsey (Aston Villa), Louie Sibley (Derby County), Morgan Whittaker (Derby County) Forwards: Folarin Balogun (Arsenal), Bobby Duncan (Derby County), Tyreece John Jules (Arsenal, on loan to Doncaster Rovers)
there's no point in pushing them up to the U20s? It's not more prestigious and it's probably not even a higher standard.
Is Maghoma highly regarded in the England setup? I see he hasn't featured at a senior level since leaving Tottenham for Brentford, seems like a slighly odd selction.

Finished 2-0. Wales pleased with the defeat. FT 🏴 2-0 🏴 U19An inspiring second half from Rob Edwards’ side, as two quick succession goals are the only difference at St. George’s Park.#ENGWAL | #TogetherStronger pic.twitter.com/MJTq7IAwOn— Wales 🏴 (@Cymru) October 13, 2020
With the U19 Euros cancelled, England have been given 1 of 5 European spots at the U20 World Cup next year.
I wasn’t even aware it has been cancelled. Was this just announced today? Well, nice to get the automatic qualification but a shame that means we will likely not see much action from this age group for quite some time and actually wouldn’t surprise me that the World Cup gets cancelled next year as well as doesn’t feel like this bloody virus is going to die off anytime soon!!
