He’s actually an excellent player and I’m actually quite excited to see him develop. Not for the first time this season when I’ve seen Wolves play, he’s impressed. I thought he was good in the World Cup but I think he’s getting better and better.
Also thought he had a decent impact in the WC and in Wolves games I've seen over last 2 seasons. Definitely under the radar but with opportunities is probably most advanced of the midfield options. Looks a #8 to me but can play #10 - when you look at this group the midfield options do seem to prefer more freedom and aren't pure #4s or #6s bar Gallagher
Handy that he's being coached to play in a midfield two with a lot of responsibility going forward + defensively. He's the type of player who could so easily be shoved out wide by a cautious manager.
Oakley Boothe on the bench again for Spurs u19 today, not sure what's happening with him atm, looked superb vs Inter with Skipp a few weeks ago.
Impressing as a DLP. Working on some aggression in his game. 1060237347122483202 is not a valid tweet id
I like what Nicky Butt is doing with the u19, every youth league I've seen MU was technically dominant. Unfortunately I'm not sure Gomes will find a coach in England willing to trust him in the DLP role.
Saka gets a first U19 call. http://www.thefa.com/news/2018/nov/09/england-u19s-squad-named-for-euro-qualifiers-091118

No Gomes! Wonder if he's injured. Another impressive recent match comp from him in the u23s 1056566480828014592 is not a valid tweet id
Again I know I said this last time but Interesting that Oliver Skipp still can’t get into any England squads despite being on Spurs bench quite a few times this season.
Not a big fan of the balance of that squad. Surely need someone like Angel Gomes at least? I’m assuming he’s fit. Big news that Poveda has accepted a call for competitive games. Too many full backs for me. Assuming Saka is in as a full back?
He must be injured surely. Butt seemed to get the best of him in that pivot role, so his form is good enough.
Gallagher ahead of Skipp is baffling. Very odd that Gomes isn't here, might be a reason we don't know about but can't believe it's football related.
Gallagher has been very good and warrants a place in isolation, but if it's him vs Skipp then the point stands just fine. Harper's the incongruous inclusion.
Yeah the thing I'm starting to like about Gomes is that he's a different sort of player than the other big blue chip prospects around his age group. That he's been dropped much deeper. No questioning his touch or his passing, Im starting to become a believer.
On the downside, I'd estimate the odds of Mourinho playing Gomes in the pivot to be somewhere in the minus numbers.
You guys will know more about Skipp than I will know about Gallagher. Wheil I think Skipp is an excellent player, I don't think England would be ignoring him for the sake of it, and having seen posts about Gallagher before, I think it's just a case where like with so many other players this is just an incredibly strong age group, and Skipp is one of the unlucky ones to miss out where it could go either way. I imagine Harper is in due to playing first team football no?
Yeah but he was already developed and a star player at Spurs. There’s absolutely no way Mourinho ( and this isn’t a dig at Utd ) will give Gomes a sniff of consistent first team football even if Mourinho is there for another 5 years I’m sorry to say.
Mentioned progress Jack Lankester was making a few weeks back, he's on standby. 🏴 | Town youngster @lankester_jack has been placed on standby for the England U19 squad for their upcoming fixtures against Moldova, Iceland & Turkey.Well deserved, Jack! #itfc pic.twitter.com/Fe79pTh9KQ— Ipswich Town (@IpswichTown) November 9, 2018 https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/34825/lambert-lankesters-a-huge-talent
