It is just really poor selection policy to dilute lower levels to cover pull outs. Look at how stacked that bench is. It just is not necessary. Coaches should be looking at some uncapped England youth options at this point. To plug gaps etc. Someone like Ibrahim Fullah would have been far more logical in the circumstances. Why is McFarlane back in the set up? They obviously aren’t considering anyone outside of the set up at this point.

Absolutely ridiculous from Spain, very unsporting for an under 19 game. Dowman even getting fouled off the ball.
All they do is literally cynically foul Dowman at every opportunity, it’s ridiculous and dangerous to the player. No wonder Clubs aren’t happy to let their players play in friendly games when cards aren’t shown like they should.
I can't recall a team at youth level doing this before. Wait until the clip compilation comes out - there might be 15 fouls on Dowman in one half. We are a full level above this Spanish team, the keeper has let us down on both goals, non league beckons for him.
I counted 10 fouls on Dowman, with 8 or 9 from the same player. And he was only booked for his last foul.
They just can’t handle Dowman at all and no surprise when he’s one and one going into the penalty area they foul him. He’s just a nightmare for defenders to deal with his really good close control, players think they have a chance but no he just nips it and it’s done.
