...the long strides with the ball perhaps. I fancy him for ten goals this year with Dipepa joining him in the line up later in the campaign.

If this journalist was in anyway clued up, he'd mention the Under 17 WC as a possible alternative route, he probably has no idea its taking place.

Not the best start for Mikey Moore at Rangers. Wonder if he'll be parked in this group for the time being.
Harrison Armstrong (8 England u18 caps) started for Everton last night and got two assists. Can't say that I recall seeing him play but these were his on the ball stats. Passes 65 Pass completion 92% Key passes 3 Through balls 1 Maybe @Gaz811 can tell us more.
Haven't heard of him before but PNE fans seem to like him: I know it's early days and I don't wanna put any pressure on the lad, but Theo Carroll looks like one of the best players our academy has produced in a long long time.#pnefc— PNE Plug (@PNEPlug) August 26, 2025
Looks like he is going to Preston on loan. 🚨 Preston North End are hopeful of completing a loan deal for Harrison Armstrong today🔵Highly rated Everton midfielder previously had spell at Derby⚪️18 year-old was on bench for two PL games this season🔵Played the 90 v Mansfield and got two assists— Mike Keegan (@MikeKeegan_DM) August 29, 2025
One player I´d love to see but probably won´t be called up is Jim Thwaites; think he has higher long-term potential than Ollie Harrison who´s been a mainstay with this group.
The Squad Goalkeepers: Douglass Lukjanciks (Everton), Nicolas Michalski (Blackburn Rovers), Jack Porter (Arsenal) Defenders: Harry Amass (Manchester United), Samuel Amissah (Fulham), Jaden Dixon (Stoke City), Airidas Golambeckis (West Ham United), Stephen Mfuni (Manchester City), Kian Noble (Manchester City), Leo Shahar (Newcastle United) Midfielders: Harrison Armstrong (Everton), Joshua King (Fulham), Divine Mukasa (Manchester City), Trey Nyoni (Liverpool), Callum Olusesi (Tottenham Hotspur), Chris Rigg (Sunderland), Sol Sidibe (PSV Eindhoven) Forwards: Jesse Derry (Chelsea), Baylee Dipepa (Southampton), Max Dowman (Arsenal), Shumaira Mheuka (Chelsea), Mikey Moore (Rangers, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur), Jay Robinson (Southampton)
How good are the options in defence? Other than Mfuni and Amass not really that familiar with the others. Noble is good on the ball but often thought he lacks some pace.
I might end up being wrong on this down the line but I do not rate Noble at all. Great on the ball and in that City style of play but when he's asked to do actual defending I find he often struggles.
Yeah that’s pretty much my assessment also but to be fair I’ve not seen him all that much and you have probably seen him much more than me.
As well as his two assists Armstrong also created a couple of good goalscoring opportunities for others and was most people’s MoM. He picked up where he left off last season when playing on loan at Derby, short passes, tackles , defence splitting through balls and just composed in any situation. Someone who’s gone under the radar a bit so far . He’ll certainly present David Moyes with a dilemma of keeping him or loaning him out. I see PNE are looking to loan him , they already have Lewis Dobbin from Villa, Alfie Devine Spurs and Daniel Jebbison from Bournemouth so a talented mix of young players there.
Yeah I remember watching a game last season before he was loaned out, can’t remember who it was against now but he played very well and like you say he played a couple of blinding through balls and I was kind of surprised Everton loaned him out as didn’t think he looked out of place whatsoever with the senior Everton players. Really hope Everton keep him as think he could play himself getting a lot of good minutes for Everton.
The usual dilemma, keep him and know he won’t be a starter yet but give him enough minutes to develop him, or send him on loan where he’ll definitely start and get minutes. I think they should keep him he’s proved himself in the Championship playing deep midfield for Derby, played mainly as an 8 Wednesday and has played at 10 at u18s. Great potential while still needing development.
A little surprised no George Hemmings. Impressing in pre-season for Villa. At Forest we got him from Burton grassroots late U14s and by end of U15 year he was with our U18s. So disappointed we lost him. Two-footed & so flexible between 6/8 & has a real edge to him defensively too.
