EXCLUSIVE: PSV Eindhoven agree deal to sign 18 year old midfielder Sol Sidibe from Stoke City. Contract will be valid until June 2029, medical booked this week. Deal done beating competition from top PL clubs as Sidibe trusts the project. (Fabrizio Romano)
Preston Fearon of West Ham is getting a lot of hype in preseason. He's looked a good player on the few occasions I've seen him so it'll be interesting to see if he gets some senior football this season. Seems like he's in the mix for a chance. Still uncapped at any level for England.
Good test for him, Rangers now confirmed European League Phase football after winning CL qualifying 2nd round although could still drop down to Europa or ECL. He's there in time to be registered in the squad to play Viktoria Plzen in the CL 3rd qualifying round in 4 days.
Rangers will be without Mikey Moore for their crunch Champions League qualifier with Viktoria Plzen (Daily Record)
1952422988357546091 is not a valid tweet id Nyoni looking good. Gonna be a full first-team squad member at Liverpool this season apparently.
Are we sure Mikey Moore has no Scottish or Nothern Irish roots and they might try and nab him? He has said his family have always loved Rangers. I can’t think many English families without any Scottish or Northern Irish roots would care much for Rangers.
First Rover and now you, why do you guys fret about these things. His whole family are Millwall, obviously those clubs have a link. And he’s trying to curry favour in an interview to Rangers in-house media, I’m not sure you need to look that much into it.
Plenty of fans in his parents’ age range would have an affinity (not the same as supporting) towards Rangers because of Gazza’s time at Rangers. It is genuinely the only reason why I prefer Rangers over Celtic. A massive amount of English football fans have a preference of Celtic or Rangers too. Maybe it is a generational thing and less people care nowadays but I always thought lots preferred one or the other.
Yeah agree with this and the Gazza era with plenty of other English players helped me prefer Rangers over Celtic and probably just the fact that they are generally more English friendly than the other half who just seem to hate anything English/British.
And when was the last time someone could have been a key player for the English national team but chose the Scottish/Welsh/Northern Irish team instead? Like never?
His surname is found in England, Scotland and Ireland, both in the North and the Republic. It is most common in Northern Ireland among those descended from Scotland, however. Given that his family support Rangers it seems likely that he has Scottish/Northern Irish heritage. That said, he just isn't the profile of talent that seems like a flight risk to one of those countries at the moment.
Bit worrying for the Mikey Moore loan that some Rangers fans seem to already want rid of Russell Martin.
Rangers manager said Mikey should be registered and available to make his debut against Scottish 3rd div Alloa in the cup on Sat. Might be a good one to get the confidence going
