Probably a couple of hours later. Let’s hope Carsley and Tuchel have been talking and he doesn’t suddenly get told on Thursday important players for him are getting promoted to the Seniors
Mfuni will hold his own in that group no problem imo, he’s looked very comfortable at UYL and PL2 so I can’t see him letting anybody down. Could yet pull out for CWC although he may miss out on that to a few of the other City EDS players
Looks like Fin Jeltsch, a CB who has become a mainstay in the starting 11 for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga and of course an integral part of Germany's success at the u17 Euros and WC will be promoted to the German u21s (at least he's not part of this Germany u19 squad). Will be interesting to see how they'll look without their best 2006-born CB compared to this England u19 selection which has seen quite a lot of changes since they were u17s for various reasons in contrast to Germany who usually traditionally like to keep players within their age group for as long as possible until the u20s/21s.
Kporha is on the bench for Crystal Palace. King is on the bench for Fulham. Miley is on the bench for Newcastle. Moore is on the bench at Spurs. No place in their squad’s for Dibling at Southampton. Or Abbott at Nottingham Forest.
Archie Stevens, a name I had completely forgotten about, is leaving Rangers this summer after his contract expires.
https://www.englandfootball.com/art...nd-mens-squad-updates-june-2025-camp-20252605 Meanwhile, Will Antwi has added Tottenham’s Reiss Russell-Denny and Crystal Palace’s Jesse Derry to his UEFA U19 EURO squad. This follows the withdrawal of Newcastle United’s Lewis Miley and Southampton’s Tyler Dibling. Derry was recently a part of the England MU18 squad that contested a double-header away to Morocco; scoring twice in an opening 3-1 win in Salé. England’s U19 EURO campaign gets underway against Norway on Saturday 14 June with the Young Lions also pitted against Germany and Netherlands in their group for the tournament in Romania. So two of the more impeotwnt players both pull out! Clubs blocking them?
Miley and Dibling out is a massive blow though and the replacements simply not at their level and experience.
Not doubting that but it is impressive when you see the quality of replacements we have available. Also, this is likely me being overly cynical but is it that much of a shock that two of the players that were recently promoted to the U21’s have ended up missing this tournament? I don’t like the way we over promote options solely to cover injury issues. Just creates issues further down the line.
It seems too much of a confidence it’s those two. The article doesn’t say why they have withdrawn just that have (Unlike the U21’s where it says medical reasons).
Brentford have signed Romelle Donovan, the 18-year-old attacker, from #BCFC after a string of excellent performances on loan with Brentford B. Not sure how reliable this bloke is, but Jesse Derry potentially moving to Germany. Jesse Derry’s representives are in Germany to hold talks with a Champions League club over a potential move. Derry was recently called up to England’s U19s squad for the summer's #U19EURO. His contract with Crystal Palace expires at the end of June . #cpfc pic.twitter.com/eseRMxLMsu— Pete O'Rourke (@SportsPeteO) June 3, 2025
Hopefully there's some sort of truth in it. As it seems he has burned the bridges with Palace I just hope he doesn't choose the earlier rumored move to Chelsea just because Watson moved there too as it would set back his short-term development and potential playing time.
The bloke is a bit hit-and-miss, often decent for things like academy loans to lower leagues but pads it out with clickbait.
Have played a behind closed doors friendly against Iceland today. Can’t find any details over than Watson scored.
Our #YoungLions completed their final preparations ahead of the #U19EURO with a 3-1 win over Iceland 👊Full details 👇— England (@England) June 6, 2025 Everyone involved except Joshua King who is presumably N.10
