I don’t seems no one does Shea Lacey injury news ? He’s been missing from the squad for last few games— Golden Takes (@YANITEDTRUTH) November 21, 2024
Sometimes the U17 Internationals are more competitive and a higher standard than U19 football internationally and continentally. But fundamentally, very few players actually outgrow U17 football and don't benefit from maxing out their eligibility. I can't think of any England player in recent history who needed to be pushed up. It's still a challenge for everyone. He's barely even played anyone yet.
What's the theory behind this? That by u19 level more of the best players have been promoted into higher groups?

Being held to a draw by Belgium last month means England are in Pot2, so will obviously be getting a team from Pot1 that contains most of the big hitters. The exception is Spain, who find themselves in Pot3, would be bad luck to get them.
Postecoglou gave a bit of an update on Mikey Moore. "It's nothing serious, but you know, he's 17. We're going to take our time, and I don't like this kind of constant, not from you by the way, but I've just heard other bits and pieces of people speculating, Come on. I mean, like, if it's your 17-year-old son, you don't want everyone to know what he has or hasn't got. It's nothing serious. It's nothing long-term. It's just that he's a young lad and he's only 17, and he's a big part of this football club, and we will protect him, and we'll be guided how he feels, how he recovers from, you know, an illness. Like I said, young people will recover at different rates. He'll be back. He's still here. he's He's part of what we're doing, and he'll be back in the next few weeks, but again he's missed a lot of football.”
We avoid France though who are historically stronger than any of the pot 1 seeds. The seeding is always unfair because the first phase groups are never of equal quality. There is likely to be a real group of death drawn.
That’s a group of death and some. Qualifying with be tough for us against Portugal and Turkish set up that is improving all the time. And home nations teams are always risky.
The Portugal match is must win. Lose that and we won’t be likely be qualifying but win it and we have a good chance.
It'd be an absolute travesty if we don't qualify with this team. We've missed this tournament a few years running now too.
Portugal could have the likes of Mora and Quenda that tore our U17s apart in the summer if they decide to drop them back down for this.
I'd like to think they won't drop Quenda down. He's been in the seniors and you'd imagine they'll be looking at taking him to the U21 Euros this summer. You never know though.
Depends what the squad looks like. The one is the last break minus Moore and Dibling looked distinctly lacking in stardust if you discount Nwaneri. If Nwaneri does move to the 21s then it looks tricky full stop.
Even without Moore, Nwaneri and Dibling it's still one of the best U19 squads I can remember. MLS, King and Dyer is a ridiculously good midfield 3, while Acheampong is the best defensive prospect in our whole system imo. You've also got Setford in net who's made his senior debut for Arsenal. We'd definitely lose a bit going forward but Tyrique George, Shim Mheuka and Kadan Young is still really strong. The issue is every England team that's been managed by Will Antwi has looked pretty toothless, regardless of the talent levels.
Those groups are very uneven. The seeding process just doesn’t work correctly. Still, our group is not the toughest. At least we get to play an elite team even if we fail to qualify.
Josh King came on in the 80th minute for his PL debut tonight. The score was 2-1 when he came on so they weren't dead minutes either.
Wrexham and Stockport County are reportedly set to go head-to-head in a bid to secure the loan signing of Manchester United's young talent Ethan Wheatley during the January transfer window. (Daily Express)
Been our man of the match in the last two games. Only made his full debut a few weeks ago. Looks a top prospect.
