Arsenal are in talks to offer 17-year-old midfielder Ethan Nwaneri a new contract as a reward for his progress at the club. (Teamtalk)
He'll get one in March when he turns 18, not much point in the club giving him a new one before then.
If players withdraw from U20 team, hopefully they'll leave this U19 squad alone. Could do with the likes of Acheampong playing in the qualifiers. Aside from Dibling, Ndala and Moore missing I would guess Shea Lacey is ahead of Derry in that position but he's injured. At least it is a position England produce talent in with Tyrique George, Kadan Young & Amo-Ameyaw being decent prospects. Perhaps Nyoni didn't have eligibility issues in the end, given he was born and lived his whole life in England. Is Rigg injured or did Sunderland want his playing time limited.
I get the feeling Rigg doesn’t enjoy playing lads his own age. He’s the kind of player who needs to be the underdog every week.
Rigg played 2 90 mins in 3 days and has just come back from a chest infection which put him in hospital. We’ll just be managing his minutes, he isn’t injured. He looked knackered at the end of the game on Saturday.
Scouts from home and abroad are following developments with Kiano Dyer at Chelsea as the English midfielder, 17, approaches the final year of his current contract. (Mail)
I wasn’t suggesting he was about the pull out it was just a general thought. I watched the Preston away game and really enjoyed his performance. I hope you go up, I remember being at Roker Park once upon a time and the locals were a great bunch.
Everyone present across the starters and the bench but Ted Curd and Triston Rowe. Presume that is just bench number limits rather than any late withdrawals. .
UEFA had it up as George first and it obviously wasn’t him. Then said it was Young. Didn’t see who made the run.
Finished 1-0. Need to play better against Bulgaria and Belgium. At least the top 2 go through tothe elite round as well as some third places.
With Rigg, Moore and Dibling missing we're missing 3 of the most advanced and best players in the group. I certainly wouldn't bet on this squad to win the Euros.
I only watched the first half. The team started well. A good tempo to the passing and some nice link up play. Then after the goal we just turn to passive and ponderous possession. This happens too often in our youth team when we seem to settle in games and sometimes it costs us. Still we take the win and move on.
The second half was basically that as well with one good save from the Lithuanian keeper and also another time when it should have been 2-0 but someone missed. https://www.englandfootball.com/art...ithuania-mens-under-19s-match-report-20241311 Match report here.
