He's definitely not Messi. He's still very raw. He missed the biggest chance of the game, a header with 0.38xG. He attempted 4 dribbles and only completed one (the one in the first tweet). There were some nice runs, like the one to get the header, and some good linkup play but he's far from the finished article. He's a pretty high risk player but his touch can be quite heavy. I think he'll become quite a devisive player as his bottom level is pretty low. Personally I much prefer Nwaneri of the two from this squad. It's a shame that Arteta will rarely use him.

He’s not Messi, don’t think we will see the likes again to be honest but I think his ceiling is pretty high and he’s only 17 so he’s going to naturally mature as he gets older ( hopefully ) so things like a heavy touch is something he will improve on. What I like about him is he’s not afraid and even if his take ons don’t always come off, it doesn’t stop him having another go. Most kids his age will just hide in those situations and keep things simple, he doesn’t shy away which I think will hold him in good stead going forward.

That's what I mean by 'high risk', I'd put Madueke and Gordon in that bracket too. They always try to make stuff happen but it is a double edge sword, when they're having a bad day at the office it can look really bad.

I think young wingers in general have lower floors compared to their reputations at youth level in comparison to players breaking through in other positions of an equal level. Their game is based on intuition and spark more than pure fundamentals so it's harder to translate that to such a higher level on a consistent basis. Nwaneri is probably the most polished English player I've ever seen at that age/level of experience in terms of fundamentals and they'll serve him very well if other parts of his game don't translate as well (not to say he's not a genius too, though).

From the little I've seen of Moore in senior football, I'm actually higher on him now than I was before. He's much better physically than I thought he was and as Marcho noted, he's got that level of fearless confidence and protagonism to go with everything else.

I was probably a bit harsh in my post but the Messi and Neymar comparisons made me wince a bit. He's definitely made a real impact in his two starts which guarantee him a good amount of minutes this season. Most youth player unfortunately fail at this first hurdle.

I rate Nwaneri higher mostly because of how tight his technique is. I think truly elite players these days have to have that level of control and I think that's Moore's obvious weakness. My impression is that Moore will end up in the bracket below, although I'm not stating that with great confidence. I've always been impressed with how good Moore's finishing one on one with the keeper is, pretty close to the level of a quality centre forward.

I'd agree that he's looked better physically than I thought too. He's one of those players that just doesn't look like an athlete though.

I never said he would be as good as Messi but from what I've seen of him he's got similar qualities

Moore reminds me a lot of a young Sancho but he seems to be faster/sharper.

I agree with all of that. I also rate Nwaneri higher. We'll know a lot more about Moore's ceiling before long. High chance he starts getting a lot more minutes now.

Especially as Werner can't finish his dinner.

Worth pointing out as you cab see on the comp that Moore goes up a level when he's on the left hand side.

If a positive conclusion means being blackmailed into signing a new contract or being frozen out completely. I guess we all have a different opinions about a positive conclusion.

I’m sure he would’nt be short of offers elsewhere. He should look at other options before signing a long term contract

I think Moore will be in the 21s before long so Lacey would be his obvious replacement in the squad.

It doesn't really feel like a Carsley kind of move though. He didn't bring Rico Lewis to the last U21 tournament even when he was playing semi regularly for City.

I know he's only recently back from injury but Lacey should really be moved up to Man U U21s.

So should Chido Obi, the guy was obviously too physically developed for the 18's last year. I'd image that United want them in the u19 squad for the youth league, given the strength of United in this age group you'd think they've got a chance of winning the competition.
