In these times it's particularly exemplary that Sunderland are replacing Clarke from within – okay, Mundle was brought in in January, but both are English youngsters.

We've been much the better side in the first 20 but an awful mix-up (lack of communication) between the keeper and centre-back allows Germany to go 1-0 up with their first meaningful attack of the game.

Ridiculous amount of goals conceded through avoidable individual errors during this international break from sides at all levels.

Nwaneri equalises, good move but the keeper should've saved it. Ironically the keeper denied Nwaneri an absolute wonder goal with a great save just minutes before.

3-2 to Germany - Dibling pulls one back with a shot from the edge of the box just after they got another through more unconvincing defending.

The fact that he refers to them as "the young kids" sounds quite dismissive in itself.
