Yeah he's not that quick but he knows how to shift his body to make space for a pass similar to how Kane does. I imagine part of the decision to move him back in to midfield was to mitigate his lack of pace and play to his strengths.

That's peanuts. There'd be a bidding war surely.

How much more than £12m is he realistically worth? I'll admit I haven't seen loads of him and the Birmingham and Sunderland teams he's played in have been pretty out of sorts so it's hard to judge him properly in those environments but he doesn't strike me as a top, top prospect. Got some talent for sure but I don't know if I'd be paying £20m for him.

He's inconsistent but the talent and the potential is there I think.

Definitely not better than Donley, probably better than Soonsup-Bell and bit too early to say if he's better than Scarlett. He's very much a poacher that scores pretty much all his goals inside the box and doesn't drop deep or get that involved in link-up play. Would say Scarlett is a bit better at creating chances for himself whereas with Lankshear it's more about making sure he's in the right position. Lankshear relies quite a lot on his strength at this level and probably won't have the same advantage when he first moves in to mens football so might not burst on to the stage. Wouldn't loan him above L1 level next season

Yeah kind of echo Storford's view. Donley the best prospect, playing much deeper nowadays.
Time will tell with the other 3, Lankshear's upper body strength is quite unique for this age group he's definitely been hitting the gym this year!

This one's interesting. I don't think he's a bad talent but I'm yet to really see it with Jobe personally because fundamentally I think he's a ball-carrying, box-crashing midfielder and I'm not sure he has the athleticism to be an elite-level version of that player, but if Dougie Freedman rates him that means a lot because his talent ID is top.

I think as much as anything he needs to have a more refined role in a team for his own development. I don't think him playing a different position like he was every week at Sunderland is good for his development. I certainly don't think he has the physical tools to become a striker at the top level either so hopefully Palace or whoever might sign him does away with that.

Sunderland are determined not to sell England youth international Jobe Bellingham, 18, with Tottenham, Brentford and Crystal Palace all keen on the midfielder. (Guardian)

If there's an 18 year old creating moments like this then someone is bound to take a punt on them. He doesn't have to be elite to be worth it, he's still going to sell for more than they paid either way.

Yeah, I don't think he has to be elite to be worth it either fwiw, I just think for the money quoted they could do a fair bit better. Sounds like he's gonna go for a similar amount to what Wharton went for and maybe even more. But like I say Dougie Freedman is one of the best talent spotters around so I'm not willing to stick my neck on the line about him not being a top prospect.

He doesn’t half move like his brother but whether he’s elite I’m not sure but he has talent and your buying potential still at his age and not the finished article so if Freedman thinks they can still improve him even more then 20 mil is worth a punt on him.

He’s a very good prospect but we misused him massively last season. We played him in a few different positions and did not rotate him nearly enough. He was knackered halfway through the season and looked a shadow of himself by the end.

If a team can manage his minutes and play him in one position, there’s quite a good player there imo.

Yeah, I've seen other Sunderland fans suggest he was affected by fatigue. I mentioned in an earlier post I think all those position changes weren't ideal either. I hope he goes all the way and it'll be interesting to see how he develops. Palace should be a good environment.
