Ridiculous to draw that game but it was actually a very good performance imo, both individually and collectively. Dominated the majority of the game and looked like we had a lot of really impressive talent, particularly in the midfield. Should've won pretty comfortably tbh, just conceded an outrageously sloppy goal then they scored with the only real chance they created after that. King, Sidibe and Nyoni all had great games and Sanusi off the bench looked like a real difference-maker. Amass' technical ability is off the charts too.
Drew the penalty shoot-out afterwards 4-4 Mukasa, Fletcher, Sidibe and Mheuka all scored Rigg's pen was saved Whatmuff made a good save on the 4th Portuguese pen. Didn't go to sudden-death, just stopped after 5 pens each.
It is a bit, I know. Probably just played into a pre-existing hunch about what seems the most likely outcome, along with the answers about idolising South American strikers.
1-0 England at half time. From the highlights we had the best of the first half but Switzerland had their moments. Amass looked heavily involved at both ends of the pitch, good going forward but a dodgy defensive moment. Mukasa or Sanusi with the goal, not sure.

Conceded a silly penalty late on .. England keeper wasting time towards the end of the game which really irritates me and sloppily miss aimed his clearance twice leading to their possession and pen.
Some of the goals this team have conceded are pretty farcical. First one in the other game was pretty awful.
Finished 1-1, Trey Nyoni with our goal. First performance against Portugal was good imo, Switzerland less so and this one somewhere in the middle. Definitely should have won the first two games and probably this one too, every goal we've conceded has come from really poor and lazy play by the CBs and/or the goalkeeper. In terms of individual performances Trevan Sanusi has looked top in all three games, really looks like a player with genuine X-factor quality. Jaden Dixon at right-back looks excellent to me too, massive frame but really good in tight spaces and a pretty crafty 1v1 dribbler at times. Other standouts have been Nyoni, King, Sidibe and Amass.
I think Dixon will get a decent bit of game time at Stoke this year, been good in his limited minutes in cup and league to date apparently.
Dixon is mainly a central defender. I'm surprised how decent he's looked at full-back. And Sidibe has looked great every time he's featured for the Stoke first team
Honestly he looks so nimble with the ball at his feet for someone of his size. Played some really cute passes in the final 3rd too. Sidibe makes quite a big difference to this team when he's on. I'm surprised France haven't come knocking for him yet, or I hope they have and he's decided to stick with us.
Sanusi was lively for us in pre-season. Watched a few of our youth games too and he really stood out, great dribbler. Reminded a lot of Newcastle fans of St Maximin as he was beating players for fun but needed to work on his end product. Hopefully that will come as the raw ability is there
Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in Sunderland's 17-year-old English midfielder Chris Rigg. (Givemesport)

TBR Football understands a host of Premier League clubs are looking closely at Stoke City youngster Souleymane Sidibe.https://t.co/CzP2CNgnIk— Graeme Bailey (@GraemeBailey) September 14, 2024
It could well be true, but it’s a pretty easy headline to write (even without any solid sources) because you can be sure most PL clubs are looking at a 17 starting in the Championship.
Nice little backheel goal by Chris Rigg. I do wonder if he links up with the u19s later in the campaign. Chris Rigg, take a BOW! 🔥 pic.twitter.com/jwCquWElwG— Sky Sports Football (@SkyFootball) September 21, 2024
