Highly unlikely that Obi will play for England again, if he even qualifies. I'd be surprised if Moore doesn't go straight to 19s as well.
I don’t follow MLS very closely but looks like LB Christian McFarlane has started the last 2 matches for New York City FC.
Here’s the Trey Nyoni compilation from the Real Betis game. What a player at 17! https://t.co/rEPD8pAtYM— Sportsweek (@Sportsweek) July 27, 2024 17 year-old Trey Nyoni looking impressive in Arne Slot's first Liverpool game as manager.
All about the youth shining in Spurs' pre season so far. Mikey Moore with a goal contribution in every game, winning goal (Jamie Donley assist) today against the reign Japanese champions Vissel Kobe.
⚪️✨ Ange Postecoglou: “Mikey Moore has been fantastic since we brought him in. He’s earned his spot on the roster at the moment”.We have to remember that last year he had some injuries and he’s only 16, but yeah… super exciting. We’ll go step by step now”, told @AlasdairGold. pic.twitter.com/XM4w06Zybh— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 27, 2024
Liverpool will not be throwing their newest starlet Trey Nyoni straight into Premier League action - despite some sparkling pre-season performances. (Daily Mirror)
🔵🏴 Understand Man City are closing in on deal to sign Christian McFarlane from NYCFC, agreement now done.McFarlane has rejected bids from Brighton and German clubs for Man City.Another huge signing for Man City Academy, first Cavan Suvillian and now Christian McFarlane. pic.twitter.com/aFtmVPWdgj— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 29, 2024
Watching Amass in pre season it's clear he has huge potential. I hate using the term regen but he really is a Luke Shaw regen. Capable of tucking into midfield, very press resistant and still capable of running the touch line and putting in good deliveries. Defensively he looks a little uncomfortable in men's football still, but I think next year could be a break out year for him at United if he progresses at a reasonable pace.
🔴✨ Ten Hag on Harry Amass: “He is not that far along now [as Mainoo was] at this moment… but if we train him well, if we coach him well, then in three months it’s possible that he can be at that point”.“He’s big talent, it can go very quickly… it will be interesting”. pic.twitter.com/Q2Ap71s9Tt— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 3, 2024
Tottenham agree first pro deal with Mikey Moore, due to be finalised on his 17th birthday on Sunday. More money than Spurs have offered a 17 y/o before. 3-year deal.Story: https://t.co/TWxoEHv9bd— Jack Pitt-Brooke (@JackPittBrooke) August 6, 2024
Trevan Sanusi having a very impressive cameo for Newcastle in a friendly v Girona. People on X raving about him
Not the right thread but when I was back home last week my mate who’s a season ticket holder was also raving about Jamie Miley during preseason.
⚪️🌟 Ange Postecoglou on Mikey Moore: “It’s fair to say, it’s incredible that he is 16 turning 17!"."He handles it really well… it’s great for this football club that’s he’s come through our academy and is already showing great promise", says via @GeorgeSessions. pic.twitter.com/uVkP9dLybT— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 10, 2024
Yes he has also looked very good in these pre-season games. He has been kind of overshadowed by his younger brother but definitely has potential and looked very assured and started the game. There are also 2 younger mileys too. Mason Miley also at Newcastle and Layton Miley who is at Sunderland.
17-year old Trey Nyoni has just scored an absolute belter in front of the Kop, in Liverpool's final curtain-raiser friendly. I thought he was a deep lying midfield player! What a prospect he's looked this pre-season.
First professional contract, so proud to be at this club🤍 pic.twitter.com/w9fbaI53dK— Mikey (@mikeymoore_10) August 12, 2024
Interesting to see what Fulham do with Josh King this season. Looks like he will be in and around their main squad. Will he make the bench tonight?
He’s had a brilliant game. He looks twice the player in red and white compared to when he plays for the England youth squads.
I reckon he finds youth games too easy, it’s mindset. You’ve got to push him physically to get him going - tippy tappy youth football doesn’t work for him.
Watched a bit of EFL trophy action, Josh King with 2 assists (and won a penalty that was missed) against Shrewsbury. Mikey Moore with a goal and 2 assists against Bristol Rovers. Jack Fletcher also scored 2 off the bench for Man Utd against Barnsley (one assisted by Harry Amass). Not a 2007 but I think Callum Osmand is player we should potentially call-up to the Elite squad/u20s this year (he played for Wales and is from the Channel Islands, but it’s turns out he’s not actually eligible for them)
