Just out of interest from those in the know but was this our strongest squad sent or an experimental squad sent? Hard to keep track when it comes to this age group.
I'm not in the know but I think for example Archie Gray & Myles Lewis-Skelly would be in the strongest squad. Goalkeepers Tommy Setford & Ted Curd arguably also. Many of that squad like Samuels-Smith, Meghoma, Golding, Jimoh, Amo-Ameyaw, Jimmy Morgan & (playing a year up) Nwaneri are regulars though. The full game is linked on the Finland website. Not sure if the other two games were broadcast.
England U17s competing in the Syrenka Cup later this month. Poland, Mexico, Norway, Romania, Portugal, Czech Republic & Ukraine the other teams attending.
Opening game (on Friday 23rd) is against Czech Republic. Couple of days later it'll either be Romania or a re-match with Norway depending on results. Tournament finishes on Tuesday 27th. Dunno who is in the squad but a press release on the Middlesbrough website this morning confirms Ajay Matthews and Charlie Lennon are on the stand-by list.
That’s good to hear about Dibling - I did wonder if he wouldn’t have been playing for a while due to whatever the issue was that caused his return to Southampton.
Ethan Nwaneri is on the bench for Arsenal in the Prem today. Clearly trying very hard to convince him to stay.
Open question for everyone. Do you think Nwaneri will stay at Arsenal? It will be tough for them due to rest of the big 6 clubs making him their priority target don’t you think?
Tommy Setford Ted Curd Dondre Abraham Joshua Acheampong Somtochukwu Boniface Eyimofe Jemide Ishé Samuels-Smith Lakyle Samuel Nathanael Boot Myles Lewis-Skelly Ethan Nwaneri Michael Golding Kiano Dyer Archie Gray Finley McAllister Lewis Miley Tyrique George Justin Oboavwoduo Archie Stevens Jimmy-Jay Morgan Samuel Amo-Ameyaw
How good does everyone think Ethan Nwaneri is? I've watched a few videos and he doesn't really strike me as anything significantly beyond what we produce generally.
Lewis-Skelly is a cheat code 😅#AFCU18 pic.twitter.com/2r5G6BebRr— Arsenal Academy (@ArsenalAcademy) September 21, 2022
Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly are both technically excellent but have the strength and power to withstand pressure. Lovely to watch the both of them.
